Floyd On The Victory
Here's some Tim Floyd quotes on the Oregon victory.
“We’re really proud of the win. That’s a really tough team. It always helps when you make every shot, and that’s what we did in the overtime.”
“We were able to get to the line tonight. We didn’t turn it over, which is important.”
“Tonight, it was Hackett and Lewis. Our guys are really sharing it and moving it. The team is getting a little better right now.”
“They were all basically limping around and playing, and playing well.”
“They ran a great in-bounds play. That’s great coaching. We just had to come out and play smart in the overtime. We got very fortunate and made some great shots.”
On going into overtime:
“They certainly had the momentum. We were fortunate to get the tip on the violation.”

What a great college basketball game, although I did not like the way regulation ended. But Lewis, probably SC's 5th most important player, playing lights-out is very very big for this team.
And it would appear that the Trojans should at least make the tournament with at least a sixth place finish in Pac-10 (Cal, Washington, Oregon State, and ASU being the bottom four teams).
After that, who knows, Troy played Kansas and Memphis tightly and will not be afraid against any team in the country. It is great to have a good basketball team with a promising future. Basketball, minute for minute, is more exciting than football, although football is one great event.
Back in early December the Trojans lose that Oregon game. Coach is teaching his vastly inexperienced lads "how to win". Memphis and Kansas were lucky to have met USC at that early time of this season. So barring major injury problems down the stretch.. the Trojans could become one very dangerous team come tourney time.
Lawyer John..Have you seen ASU play this season yet?
Goliathtrojan -
Which ASU team shows up is the question - the one that lost both games this weekend to the washingtons or the one that had only two losses for much of the early season. WSU is good, while the huskies are ok.
We'll see the devils this coming weekend and then can get a real perspective on playoff chances.
Goliathtrojan:
No, I haven't seen ASU, and I know they have a hot-shot Freshman. Perhaps I know not what I speak, but I suspected the Devils were playing over their heads and over the course of an 18-game schedule would normalize.
Sure gotta love the Pac 10 hoops schedule. Any of the first 9 are dangerous. AND we all know that most of the so called mainstream media have not even bothered to watch any of our leagues games..
