Horton Transfers

| | Comments (8) |

UNLV safety Shane Horton of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks is transferring to USC and could enroll this semester if he gets cleared in the next two weeks.
Horton, the older brother of USC commitment and Notre Dame defensive end Wes Horton. Under NCAA rules, Horton can enroll at USC in the first three weeks of the spring semester. Otherwise, he would need to wait until the fall.

Is there any difference as to when he will be eligible if he enrolls this spring vs next fall?

Thanks,

I think the only difference would be that if he enrolls in the spring he can participate in spring ball but if he waits he cant but either he wont play this year because he transfered.

Scott,

I just heard on the radio that OJ Mayo might have violated NCAA rules by accepting tickets to the Lakers game yesterday given to him by Carmelo Anthony. Do you have any information about this? Will he be suspended by the NCAA?

anyone see this kid play?

Other than being the brother of an undersized project whose stock seemed to go down last year, what are his credentials to merit a scholy ?

Will he count against the available scholarships? So is this a case of transferring and being a walk-on, or transferring and accepting a scholarship? Fight On!

I saw him play many times. He's a great all around athelete. He started 3 years at Notre Dame High playing CB and then taking over for Garrett Green at Safety. He also filled in quite well for an injured Dayne Crist (ND Univ bound).
If I had to pick which brother to have on my football team, I'd go with Shane.
