Here's another installment of As USC Turns . . .

Q: Has Mitch Mustain found a BBQ joint in LA that he likes? Has he tried sushi, and if so, what is his favorite sushi bar? And, is there any truth to the rumor that Jeanie Buss bought OJ a coke at the Lakers/Nuggets game, which violates an NCAA regulation prohibiting professional sports organizations from serving refreshments to NCAA athletes? Will this infraction result in the loss of his amateur status?
A: No. Yes. No. No.

Q: I know you are infamous for your love of soccer, but did you ever get into rugby?
A: Our eagle-eyed readers might have noticed I wore a rugby jersey to the Oregon State game. I was actually in Europe the first weekend of the Rugby World Cup although I find the game a bit repetitive. A few years ago, I was in Ireland when England and Ireland played in Dublin and the pubs were overflowing with fans of both teams. It was one of the crazier scenes I've witnessed but was good natured, especially with the Irish, who are always friendly.

Q: So with Barkley signing up how do you think the next few years under center will look: Also, If Mustain does not become the starter next year, he can redshirt right, because if he doesn't he would graduate the same year as Sanchez.
A; Mitch Mustain cannot redshirt. He just redshirted this past season. Otherwise, the depth chart looks about right, with Barkley able to start three seasons. Again, one question please.

Q: With signing day just around the corner, name six non-verballed players you think will become Trojans, in order of highest probability.
A: Here we go with one of my least favorite questions. I don't have an order, but I'm starting to think Nick Perry might actually come to USC and Jarrell Harris seems like he might too. If Julio Jones does, that would be one of those ``wow'' pickups that this class lacks. Jurrell Casey is going to commit at some point, no surprise to anyone.

Q: Any last work on why our WR's couldn't catch a thing last year? You already said the position is open to competition which is a good idea considering they all seem to have stone hands. Do you think they will improve this year? We were pretty much running an offense with no WR's last yearJust how scared is ol'Petey? Obviously he realizes UCLA just upped the ante ALOT by bringing in Chow and RN. Or does his ego have the better of him again?
A: The receivers will improve, but there is only so much they can do physically. I think Ronald Johnson has a good upside and Brandon Carswell could make an impact, but some of the other guys have maxed out.
Caesar realizes the stakes have changed at UCLA, but that doesn't mean his ego won't allow him to think he'll outrecruit and outcoach them anyways.

Q: Do you ever share the poll results on your blog with Caeser? It seems like you make the choices to irk or prod him a certain way.
A: Actually, I do share them sometimes, when I think it's interesting or when I feel like irking him, which is every time I talk to him. For instance, when I called him last week, I told him, ``you might want to get a few commitments at some point around here unless you like the No. 14.''

Q: Much is being made of JD Booty’s lack of development in the past two years, and that he would have done better under Chow than he did under Sarkisian. Booty had back major surgery and rehab before the 2006 season; and in 2007 he was hampered by an underachieving/pass-dropping receiver corps –with the exception of Fred Davis. Do you agree that Chow would have developed him better? If so, then how?
A: I didn't have a real problem with Booty's junior season. If Booty had Reggie Bush, LenDale White or Mike Williams, wouldn't he have been playing in a national championship game just like Matt Leinart? He was five points from getting there in 2006 without any of those players. The bigger problem was his senior year. And if I had to pick who should coach him in that situation, how would you go against the old master. That's not a criticism of anyone, it's just common sense.

thanks for answering our questions SCOTT WOLF. I wonder what Pete's response was when you talked to him about being ranked #14 on the recruiting trial. Ugh. I'm frustrated. I want USC to go every year with perfect records or just one loss. But then again one loss seasons while great for most programs would be like the Buffalo Bills going to the superbowl and not winning each year. That's just horrible
