Expect USC assistant coach Ken Norton to speak to UCLA at least more time in the next few days. I won’t lie and say I’m interested in this subject, but new UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel wants to impress the influential boosters that he had dinner with on Tuesday night in Anaheim and Norton would satisfy them.
Norton’s always coached linebackers but he might have to go to UCLA as associate head coach/defensive line coach or associate head coach/asst. to the linebackers coach because the Bruins already have a linebackers coach.
So he needs to decide if that is what he really wants.
Here’s the real question: Who will USC get to jump around in the huddle if Norton leaves?
UPDATED: If Norton turns UCLA down, expect Oregon State cornerbacks coach Nigel Burton to become a strong candidate to join the Bruins staff.
