Taking The Call
Caesar, who is in Hawaii, is expected to speak to the Atlanta Falcons by phone today. Maybe he should change his website to AtlantaFalconsRipsit.com.

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

We all know how these rumors usually work out. However, ESPN is now reporting that Carroll is interested in the Falcons' job. Say it ain't so, Pete!
Anyway, here is the first two paragraphs of what ESPN is currently reporting:
"USC coach Pete Carroll is interested in the Atlanta Falcons' head coach opening and is expected to speak with Atlanta owner Arthur Blank via phone Wednesday, sources at the American Football Coaches Convention in Anaheim told ESPN's Joe Schad."
"Blank is expected to offer full control of personnel decisions to Carroll and the sources said that is what intrigues Carroll most. Carroll is currently on vacation in Hawaii."
this is getting old...let him go; he knows his reign as king in cfb is over.
Like just4sc said, this is getting old. I for one am damn tired of hearing about Coach Carroll's job interviews every January, If taking the HC position at SC was just a temporary matter of proving himself so the NFL would accept him back, so be it.
We need a HC that wants to be at USC, not an opportunist.

We need a HC that wants to be at USC, not an opportunist. Two/Three million a year is not enough....give me a break.
alfa1:
Overreaction is in the dictionary, please look it up. Have you forgotten that this is a FREE country that allows you to rattle your vocal chords as loud as you want? You have the same FREEDOM to go after a higher paying job. Excuse me, you forgot, yeah? That is WHY you don't deserve a break.
Capitán, yes, overreaction is in the dictionary, however; you are on the wrong page. 'F'
frustration, with having these annual flirtations, distractions by our beloved Coach. Make no mistake, future commits read the newspapers and view the internet like we do, it is a distraction to them as well. Freedom, wonderful word, to choose as one wishes, again however; it does not mean self absorbsion, or ambitious desire, Coach had the freedom and the opportunity to go with the Dolphins last year, no one stopped him or barred his door. Instead of an up front approach toward a job offering, all of his contacts are surreptitious, oblique and but whispers, why? If he is interested, then by all means say so.
Don't want to lose this 'golden goose' hang on till something better comes along.
Break, yes I do, and so does the School, the Alumni and Trojan fans.
Two/Three million a year. From your comments, guess you wouldn't be happy either.
Yeah, that conversation with the Dolphins really killed our recruiting.
We should totally move on from a coach with six consecutive BCS games, a 5-1 record in those games and six consecutive top 4 finishes, a 79-14 record and a 6-1 record against ucla and ND. Yeah, you're totally right.
Dudes, these are the salad days and I don't really give a sh*t who PC talks to or what he does in the offseason as long as he's in the Coliseum in C&G every fall.
Bruce...you are awesome.
One can't blame Pete for being the best at what he is. Any self-respecting person would at least evaluate job offers like that. We SHOULD all take it as a compliment we have the best coach in college football. Have you forgotten all PC has done for USC/the city of Los Angeles? Do a bit of research. You think we would have a Galen City w/o the football success? Sold-out football games? I don't care what the man does...he has done so much to the school. He put USC back on the map.
Instead of the constaint whining, let's support him to win forever. It's good for you. It's good for USC. and it's good for the city.
