You have already discussed Mitch Mustain's chemistry with Damian Williams and Brandon Carswell, so how has he done with the other receivers?
By the way, nice touch to add a poll about the September 2010 quarterback race in January of 2008!
How good of a shot does USC have at getting Julio Jones?... because I don't even think USC was on his radar until PC went to visit.
How about that riot Friday night on 30th, Wolf? I wonder what that did for recruits visiting.
From what you've seen, do you think Chris Galippo has the potential to be a standout on USC's defense much like how Sedrick Ellis' name was always brought up on tv by the commentators?
What do you think about what Pete Arbogast has posted on his blog about the Norm/Pete fued. He wont mention you by name by he is clearly talking about what you have posted here.
Your buddy at the DN Tom Hoffarth goes a great job busting up Arbogast and showing him for the loser he is.
Just wanted to get your thoughts and perspective.
Scott,
What are skill sets for the weak-side linebacker versus the strong-side linebacker positions?
SW, what's your take on Matt Barkely annoucning that he's coming in 09? What does this do to the QB situation in the future? Fight On!
Do you see Alex Parsons and/or Michael Reardon moving back to the defensive side of the ball in the spring?
What in the world is behind the reluctance to change schemes or add to them? (e.g., basically no shotgun - even if behind with seconds left, soft zone - even if the other team is picking it apart) It seems that only a strong personality like Orgeron could make small modifications to the given schemes, but there is no one on staff with that force any more.
Do you think Chelsea can catch Man U or Arsenal?
Do you think Chelsea can catch Man U or Arsenal?
I think Kaluka Maivia is vastly underrated. It seemed like he made plays every single time he got the opportunity to play. I'm going to miss Keith Rivers but I think Maivia will be just as good and productive as Rivers was. Kaluka is on top of my underrated list. Who's on yours?
What % of the football would be admitted to USC if they were not football players?
Whatever happened to the fat booster?
Any word from the coaches if they plan on using Clay Matthews more next year? I know he was limited by injuries this past season, but he looked very fast, especially off the end in blitzing situations.
Now that it seems confirmed by many that Coach Carroll will be at USC for awhile, will you try and develop a better relationship? More personal and less combative?
Scott,
I used to have class with Michael Morgan and I was surprised when I learned that he played linebacker, since he seems quite undersized. With his health problems and lack of size, do you ever see him making it onto the field as a linebacker?
Thanks.
Your coverage of the OJ Mayo/Lakers Tickets non-issue seemed to imply that you felt USC's compliance department was overzealous in contacting the NCAA. Isn't it better that they get the NCAA to rule quickly and take the necessary corrective steps than to turn a blind eye and find out that the NCAA has acted on its own accord down the road -- especially since the NCAA did find such a violation took place in this instance? To what extent do you believe USC should make such determinations on its own without consulting the NCAA?
How does the Pac-10 race shape up for next season? If you don't want to list 1 through 10, how about listing the favorites and any potential surprises? As always, thanks for the forum.
seems like you're losing interest in the forum.
Scott,
After such a dominating performance in the senior bowl, who gets taking first, Sed Ellis or Dorsey? Also, did Booty's 2 mishaps (Int in the red zone, and fumble) make his stock slip a little more? He did make some great crisp throws though. Also where do you see Chauncey Washington going?
Glena Carroll seems to stay out of Pete's limelight. What can you tell us about her?
How does Leinart feel about Reggie dating Kim Kardashian? Is Leinart going to go out and try to date someone even hotter than that? Maybe that's what he was doing in Manhattan Beach.
Cmon Scott - spit the news? What's the story on Lane Kiffen and Chow that you were going to share? You've taken us this far down the path, so quit stretching it into a sequel. thanks for the good work.
ATTN: SCinHB--Sorry, I misread your question.
HI Scott--last forum, I asked if you thought Barkleys' commit could help 2008 recruiting--you didn't answer--I guess the answer is probably not--but please advise if you think it might.
I know the one question rule, so just answer any one of the following that you want---I hope you will answer at least one--but feel free to answer more if you like--heh heh.
1. Did you yourself personally know that Booty was playing hurt in the 2nd half of the Stanford game--the media wasn't told until after, but you are right there and must have overheard talk, etc.
2. At the Rose Bowl game, whenever the camera went to the SC bench, a really fat guy in a dark suit was always in evidence. Was this the fat booster you referred to earlier--if so, how could he get on the sidelines when we have only 5 sideline passes?
3. Last time I asked for all the details on Emily, you replied that patience is a virtue--I know that, but I am dying, so can I HAVE THEM NOW???
4. Can you now discuss the fracas that occurred between Norm and Kiff after Norm took the Titan job?
Well, guess I've overdone it, but thanx for whatever. Finally, thanx again for the forums.
I see uscjake and I asked the same question re Chow-
kiff tiff, so I'll withdraw my #4 above--he asked his while I was writing and posting. You did say you would tell us, and we have all been waiting.
You keep saying there isn't a "wow" factor to this year's USC recruiting class, yet according to Rivals, USC has received verbals from three of the top six rated offensive guards in the nation and two of the top six rated offensive tackles in the nation. While those may not be "wow" positions, it still is pretty impressive. My question is do you think the nation's high school recruiting class may not have as many "wow" players available this year as in previous years(such as when Reggie Bush and Vince Young were in high school)? Also, USC is not going to be recruiting quarterbacks or running backs this year(it doesn't appear to be necessary) That could be another reason why there isn't such a Scott Wolf "wow" factor to this class.
Who determines which football jerseys/player’s #s get made by Nike for sale in the bookstore and/or retail market? In the Pete Carroll era, which players have been so honored?
Nike produces three (or so) replica football jerseys for sale in the bookstore and/or retail market each season. Who determines which players/jersey #s are selected? In the Pete Carroll era, which players have been so honored?

What is your definition of a "booster?"
As always, thanks in advance.

Sorry for the double posts. I was just trying to re-word my question, not ask two.
Has there ever been any serious talk of going to a twelve-team conference (by the Pac-Ten "powers-that-be")?
