About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

I know Mitch Mustain has played well in practices but how has he done in actual scrimmages? Not the four official scrimmages, but the ones that take place at the end of practices with actual plays and all the players competing with the coaches watching.
Thanks for the forum, Scott.
How long has Coach Carroll been doing his Monday Morning Quarterback Talks? Do other college coaches do something like this? Do you find them helpful and interesting?
Who wins on Saturday, Portsmith or Chelsea ??
Do you think USC is getting committments from lesser regarded players now partially to move up in the much publicized recruiting rankings? Getting a few 2 and 3 star guys will move the needle and maybe get the Trojans in the Top 10 and save face nationally. Perception is everything...
Scott,
Could you list all of the players who redshirted this year?
And what's up with premiereship obsession? Can't you endorse a Serie A, Liga or even Bundesliga (GO BAYERN!) team every once in a while?
Thanks!
I recently read that at least ten schools in the six BCS conferences, including Virginia Tech in the ACC and Kentucky and LSU in the SEC, still need a game to complete their 2008 schedules. For a lot of different reasons football scheduling has become more and more complicated with many AD's having to now schedule Division 1-AA teams to fill their schedules. I took a look at LSU's schedule for next season and its a complete joke. Eight out of their twelve games are at home with them playing three in a row at home against North Texas, Troy and a rumored Division 1-AA to start off their season and then they have a four week stretch towards the end of the season where again, they don't have to go on the road. We all know how important November is and how beneficial it is to have home field advantage. In your opinion, how is it that conferences like the SEC can get away with these type of scheduling practices while continuously getting a pass cause of their strength of schedule within their own conference? When do you think the media will finally wake up and hold teams accountable? There's twelve teams in their conference and yet they're having problems filling their schedules, thus they shouldn't have a scheduling problem in my opinion...what's yours? Again, thanks for the forum.
In what ways are the daily activites/lifes of football players most different from those of "normal" students?
Why did SC go after Brian Baucham? Scout has him rated 2 stars so there must be something that isn't apparent.
Going out the door this morning, TV news was reporting about an individual with a plan to build a stadium for USC. Was this more propaganda against the CCommission? What's the scoop?
Scott, I'd like to know about how the passing down of the #55 jersey works. Is it something that happens rarely or does it just go to the best guy on the defense? Any chance Galippo gets it?
At what point does Mike Garrett step in and bring the hammer down on Caesar for his clandestine visits with NFL owners? Or is there really nothing Garrett can do to prevent Pete from inquiring about other jobs? These "phone calls" and "trips" every year to meet owners is annoying, and I'd have to think effect recruiting at least a little. Thanks Scott.
Scott, for the last several years you were an invited speaker at the Long Beach Trojan Club and you would usually speak right before National Letter of Intent signing day to discuss ALL things related to USC Football. This year the club invited Gary Klein of the L.A. Times. What happened? Did you already have a previous commitment? Will you be speaking at one of our future meetings? If so, I can't wait. That's ALWAYS the best club meeting of the year. FIGHT ON!
Scott-
Have you read the Seattle Times investigative article about Rick Neuheisel's time at Washington and how one of his players was never charged with raping a young female student due to "a lack of sufficient evidence," even though there was plenty of evidence? If so, what did you think of the article and do you think it draws parallels to certain players on the USC football team who have been arrested but never charged under similar circumstances, despite significant evidence to the contrary?
Hi Scott:
What was the reason for Mozique McCurtis' sudden departure and what does this mean for our secondary next season (now that Terrell Thomas is graduating)?
Thanks.
Enquiring minds want to know what happen to the "live" Tommy Trojan Mascot that was at USC Basketball Games? He has only shown up for a few games at the Gallen Center. He was a regular at the Sports Arena and the kids seemed to enjoy him.
HI WOLFIE
You posted that you heard we have a handful of silent commits---I know you can't give names, but can you flesh this post out a little--like how credible do you think your source is--are these transfers--are they impact players--does this exclude the two Poly guys--exactly how many are there---things like those, Wolfie--i.e. anything you can add to this very, very vital post that you made, that made my heart go into cardiac arrest?
Thanks in advance for ANYTHING here--please remember that I may be dead by next Wednesday, but if I die, after reading your answer, at least I'll die more knowledgeable.
Is Mitch Mustain counted as part of the upcoming recruiting class rankings or last year's signings?
Scott, Do you find it surprising that Brian Baucham was offered, given that he is rated only as a two star recruit?

You reported that Telemaque and Casey were suppose to announce their commitment on Wednesday the 30th at 10:15pm. What happened? Did they end up changing their minds on USC?
Scott,
What is the approximate compensation of the "top" CFB analysts like Lee Corso, Mark May, & Coach Holtz? Just curious how much one gets to paid to watch games and state his opinion. How much lower is the compensation for online-only analysts like CFN staff & CNN-SI writers like Stewart Mandel.
Thanks!
How did Joe Adams' campus visit go last weekend? Were Mitch Mustain, Damian Williams and Broderick Green involved in any way? Did the poor weather play a role in the visit?
Whats the deal with the football complex. The University released its "vision" for the next 20 years of development (http://www.usc.edu/community/upcmasterplan/) and the new football complex is not on there. Is there a different timeline for this project and do you know when and were it may be?? Where is the building to be built and are there plans that are open to the public yet?? Any Details?? Thanks.

Why do so many teams seem to want Demetrice Martin while USC doesn't seem to be taking any steps to keep him a Trojan?
What off season hires is Pete bringing in to join his staff? Do you have opinions on who he should hire and at what positions? It looks like sark needs a hand in developing the Offensive players.
Have you found out yet who in the athletic department was responsible for Suge Knight being given a field pass? What was the possible reason for such a thing happening?
When recruiting against Notre Dame, for example, would their relatively weak schedule for the next 3 years be a talking point for coaches?
Is there any buzz among the coaches, players or sports admin about "Tarnished Heisman"? Has anyone noteworthy confirmed to you that they have read it? Can you confirm or rebuke any of the assertions in the book? I assume that the sports admin has put a gag order on campus regarding this entire subject.

Have you started work on Matt and Me the sequel to Mitch and Me?
Someone asked you about the filming of Mitch and Me and who Hollywood was going to tap for the leading role. You were very modest in your answer. Let's be honest, don't you think that you could play Mitch as well as yourself. After all a young good looking guy like you could easily pull that off. Just have a different accent and dress in differenet costumes. There is precedent, Lindsay Lohan played both leading roles in the movie Parent Trap. Don't let your modesty get in the way. You can do it!
Scott:
With the startling announcement that the the movie version of "Mitch and Me" will star Hayden Christensen as our hero Mitch Mustain and Party of Five's Scott Wolf as, well, Scott Wolf, this raises some serious questions:
1) Will either of the crime fighting duo wear a cape while fighting crime and protecting the Trojan way?
2) Will our hero Mitch Mustain have his own logo like Superman and Batman?
3) Will this logo replace the current Trojan logo on the football team's helmets?
4) Do you have any plans to copyright the logo as it is sure to become as famous and profitable as the Nike logo, or will USC claim proprietary rights and cash in instead?
5) Do the crime fighting duo have any plans of going after the culprit (whose identity we all know...) behind Pedalgate and the Bicycle-Contra affair?
Fight On!
The Seattle Times "Victory and Ruins" series brought to mind two former players from the last six years who were accused of similar crimes.
Without naming any player in particular, would you say there have been individuals that went through the program who's actions were "overlooked" in the same way?
Would anyone consider moving Allen Bradford to defense?
