Weekend Forum Answers, Act V

Here's the next installment of answers, er, answer, brought to you by Ronald McDonald, who supplied the basketball shoes to USC this season.

Q: Can you tell me the difference in skill sets needed to play the nose tackle position versus the defensive tackle position? Does one line up on the strong side of the football?

A: The nose guard lines up against the other team's center. The nose guard is quicker and faster than the other defensive tackle, who plays the ``three technique'' position. But the three technique is usually taller than the nose guard. If you're tall and quick, then you play defensive end. At least at USC.
