Great moments in college sports
Maybe this is why Caesar declines attempts to wear an alternate uniform. It's not that the black uniforms were an awful idea, although the shorts were atrocious.
But when you parade them before everyone against your crosstown rival, you might make sure the team plays with intensity. Otherwise, it's about as memorable as Notre Dame breaking out green jerseys in a blowout loss to USC.

You really believe 'intensity' was not there for the Trojans?-- I respectfully disagree.
They put out a great effort, in my opinion, but did not have enough big bodies to compete for the offensive rebounds (a problem all year), and did not shoot well, which sometimes appears to be a lack of effort. Troy was defending well to the end, but with no relief for the starting 5 (except for 8 minutes from Wilkinson), the fatigue would have an adverse effect on leg strength, which often results in poor shooting.
Yes, the boys played with tremendous intensity. Poor shooting, bad turnovers, all probably fatigue-related, led to our demise. And, will become a trend with no bench going forward, I am afraid.
Was Scott evcn at the game? The game story in the Daily News was written by Bruin homer Brian Dohn, even though it was SC's home game. What amounted to a sidebar story on the Trojans was written by Phil Collin of the Daily Breeze. What is up at the Daily News? Do we even have a beat reporter anymore?

I hate Notre Dame more than anyone, but they broke out the green jersey's in the game that was won with the Bush Push, not a blowout. In this years blowout, they were wearing throwback jerseys in honor of a team from the 70's, not as a motivational tool.
did u hear lindsay soto on fox after the game calling sc's black uniforms "funeral-ish"? yikez! hey, she said it, not me.... i happen to think theyre cool, theres no tradition in them(yet), but cool to wear once in a while.
