No Longer Silent

Cornerback T.J. Bryant's signing brought in one of those silent commitments USC got weeks ago. Perhaps this will offset losing Joe Adams to Arkansas.

At the end of the day, we won't know why we lost out on Joe Adams. We can speculate all we want. We landed a top DB and we got to give PC and Seto some credit for pulling him out of Florida cause its a huge pick up.

This kid was previously ranked #1 at DB. He can certainly play. Great job to the coaching staff. Was he the Hyman Roth???
Congrats T.J.

First, regarding your sources on Randall Carroll, were these the same ones you had for Telemaque, DeSean Jackson and CJ Spiller ?....boy I hope so.

A friend and I were talking after we heard the TJ Bryant and Joe Adams news and wondered how you were going to negatively spin this one, and sure enough you did by saying "perhaps this will offset losing Joe Adams to Arkansas". Offset ? I'd say it's an upgrade given how the two are ranked, their size (Bryant bigger) and SC's cornerback need....Bryant is a pure corner whereas Adams is a WR/CB. And if you consider the fact that we lose Adams but gain Bryant and Perry how can that not be a positive ?...which I know is a foreign concept with you.

TJB is huge! Word on the street is that Joe Adams wanted to play WR, and we told him he would want him only as a DB. We already have 3 "athletes" in Curly, Bauchman, and DJ Shoemate, so losing another "athlete" who really wanted to be a WR, if that is true, is not much of a loss for us. And, getting one fo the best CBs in the country, if not THE BEST, is absolutely frkn huge. Losing Adams for TJ is not an even trade, we UPGRADED big time. And, can you imaging the line of the future with Nick Perry, Everson, and some of the other stud DLs we have coming in! Way to go, PC. Top 8 class for sure, factor in Mustain, and we make a legit argument for #1, IMO. Now, come on J Harris, let's keep it rolling.

Agreed! The incoming class is shaping up nicely. SC easily has moved into the top 10 as far as incoming classes are concerned. This class may not have the #1 ranked prospects like years before, but PC and his recruiting team did a great job filling areas of need like the o-line. Jerrell Harris is next up and if we can land him that would be sweet.

Based on a vote of SC backers earlier this week it appeared most were not so sure if TJ Bryant would sign with SC. So this must come as at least a mild surprise.

Perhaps we closed VERY STRONG... Awesome get - though he wasn't a silent as you reported.

Spiller to USC - you go wolf.... keep swingin' you're going to hit something someday

I read that Nick Perry had 36 sacks this year. 36 sacks??? That's a great career for most people. I also read that he's raw and considered a project. I don't know how anyone can get 36 sacks in a year and still be considered a project. Dude sounds tre-freakin'-mendous.

FIGHT ON!

TroJay21 Author Profile Page said:

Yeah, he's got some insane stats, which include those 36 sacks. I think they're saying he's a project based on his "raw" athleticism at the position...basically, after some tutelage under the system he can produce. In other words its like saying the kid has some major "upside"...a term pro-scouts love to use.
