We have not heard confirmation for USC yet but guard Daniel Hackett is telling people he will miss the rest of the season with a back injury. He suffered a similar injury in high school and was out for several months.

if true, season is over. That's all she wrote, folks. Not enough depth to overcome Mr. Everything...
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Maybe this season of unfulfillment will convince OJ to come back for year 2. An incredible amount of injuries this season. We really missed Kasey Cunningham, who was becoming a valuable big man contributor. Imagine where we might be this season with Ryan Francis, Gabe, a healthy Hack, and a healthy Cunningham. Get well soon, Hack, and thank you for the outstanding job you are doing, Coach Floyd. With OJ back, next season could be a Final 4 year. These setbacks just show how hard it is to get there, and how much we should cherish it when we do get there - in 2009.

I was born a Trojan and been a hoops fan since day 1 in 1969...through thick and thin....mostly on the thinner side. This has nothing to do with "the guys we got", it's all about the guys we don't got. In a solid league, we have gone from thin in depth to skinny, or possibly even emaciated. The boys we have will fight to the death, but let's face it, without Hack we are only 6 solidly deep with Keith coming off the bench, 8 deep with a stretch to Cromwell and Wetherall, and no reserves who have even seen playing time after that. A 6 deep roster is not going anywhere in a competitive league and NCAA post-season. It has nothing to do with the guys from 1-6 who are fighting their hearts out, the pessimism has to do with players 7-10 who are all injured, early draftees, or transfers who can't help us. Next season, booty11, next season. Although, I would love to see Floyd create some miracles yet this year.

There are a lot of teams that only go six deep. With tv timeouts and using your alotted timeouts right there is plenty of rest for D! athletes to be able to go the whole game. The season is not over! Trust me

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to him.
