About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Why has $c droppped so much from their usual 1-3 ranking in recruiting? Is bushgate looming around heritage hall and the recruits are becoming aware of this?
No, it's because USC is so afraid of the mighty Bruins. The Bruins are supper cool and so are you UCLAistheplace. So cool.
The ratings systems are based on # of players recruited X quality of players. USC is lower this year becase we have offered fewer scholarships than the highly ranked schools....14 for SC to 25 or so for the top schools. But, if you look at the rating avg of our recruits, we are top 3. Quality not quantity this year. Based on early 2009 recruiting, PC may be saving some scholarships in anticipation of one of the best classes in our history next year.

Like DFWTrojan mentioned, the rankings are about quantity more than quality, but beyond that this class is built around need. 5 STUD O-Linemen and 4 D-Linemen won't earn you a top 5 class. We don't need a QB or RB, so naturally we won't wow the 'voters', but this class provides a foundation that will make those current and future 'wow' skilled guys H-men and National Champs. Love this class.
I recall Nebraska, the team of the '90s, always having those stud linemen and winning 3 national championships along with a boatload of games. That is where the true football is played-- just ask Tom Brady.
Lawyer John, I admire your posts. I agree that football is won along the offensive and defensive lines. Without adequate blockers, no running back or quarterback can succeed. And without adequate pass rush and/or run stopping by a defensive line, even the best linebackers or defensive backs are subject to being beat. Alternatively, good line play can make backs, quarterbacks, LB's and DB's look and perform better than they actually are. That's why I think this year's USC class of recruits is better than it is ranked.
Thank you Love USC. Now please talk to all my little friends over at ucla on Brian Dohn's blog. They would beg to differ with you.
Thank you Love USC, but I think you better check with all my little ucla friends over at Brian Dohn's blog regarding my posts. They would universally disagree with you.
Lawyer John, what else would you expect from a meaningless bunch of little crybabies? It seems as if they are so quick to denigrate anything related to USC, but they are elated with their coaching staff and its connection to USC. Indeed, the gutless little boobs are saying they already are on par to compete with USC, yet their recruiting class and their leftover bunch of so-called football talent pales in comparison to the group that practices in the shadow of Heritage Hall. The UCLA blog respondents are a depressing group of human beings, but at least they do have jobs cleaning our pools and mowing our lawns - without them, who would do all the Minimum Wage jobs in our society? Meanwhile, those of us like you and me and the rest of the noble Trojan Community have higher standards to uphold. Thanks again for your insightful and thoughtful posts, and FIGHT ON!
Here is the link to video proof that Neuheisel used an expletive during an appearance at Pauley Pavilion when referring to playing USC - now we have proof that Slick Rick has absolutely no class at all ...
