Round 8

Q: What's the deal with Dwayne Jarrett's career?
A: Questionable work habits.

Q: Why can't people let this quarterback situation go and accept that MARK SANCHEZ should start? He was not only, the top QB in 05' (some said Perrilloux... yeah right) but he's been in the program for thrice as long as M.M. years and has played in USC's system, in USC games, for USC. I know Mitch was a top flite recruit, but so was Sanchez. Why can't they give him a break???

A: I've said Mark Sanchez is the frontrunner going into spring practice. Now, there are people who always misinterpet by comments, so I want to elaborate when I said yesterday that a big question for Mustain would be whether he got a fair shot in the spring to start. This has nothing to do with Sanchez. Two years ago, Sanchez did not really get a fair shot. He played the entire spring without John David Booty and when training camp opened, was still described as the backup. The incumbent just has a big edge at USC, no matter who it is. We'll see if that changes.

Q: Any idea if josh pinkard stays at cb or does he return to safety? i think cb would be his best shot at playing. do you think marshall jones will be a big time player? i think he seems a bit small

A: Pinkard will be a cornerback next season. He could switch the following year. Marshall Jones shows a lot of promise although he is smaller than Kevin Ellison or Taylor Mays, but size isn't everything.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
