Tom Brady Drops USC
With the Super Bowl today, here's a 1995 profile from SuperPrep magazine on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Tom Brady. Junipero Serra San Mateo. 6-4, 215. 4.95. The 5-5 Padres were average but Brady stuck out. He completed 143-260 passes for 2,830 yards and 22 touchdowns. Scans the field well and doesn't telegraph passes. Not much of a scrambler but can heave the ball 70 yards. Visited Cal in December. UCLA, Jan. 13. Hold close edge over Michigan. USC already picked its quarterbacks. Illinois didn't feel right. He dropped both from contention.

Glad we didn't get him. He's a loser (only kidding). Go Giants. Go Stevie Smith!
The game was practically the Steve Smith show - many clutch plays, key yards after catch, he is a star. Can't help thinking that the commentators' frequent references to the fact Steve Smith was from USC, and was "well-schooled" there will help us in the recruiting game. 3 former players were in the game today. Fight on.
Actually it was four... and Lua (the fifth) was on the Pats practice squad.
Was the QB in SCs 95 class Mike VanRaaphorst?
