Does Mitch Mustain know what he needs to do in order to win the starting quarterback job? Obviously he needs to be better, and everyone knows that, so that's not what I'm asking. Do you think he is motivated and focused enough to achieve this goal? Do you think he's the most complete quarterback USC has had in the last few years?

Since USC is a private university and there are signs at all the entrances to the campus that unless one has official business, they would be trespassing, then how come agents are still allowed to wander all over the place, including Heritage Hall and around/outside Howard Jones Field? Why doesn't anyone within the athletic department try to ban them? Pat Ruel's feeble attempts to chase them off hardly count. If they are trespassing, they can both be removed and prevented from entering the campus, so why isn't anything being done about this? Is anything being discussed?

Is there more to Suge Knight, a very dangerous convicted felon (to put it lightly), being given field passes to an SC football game this past season than most people realize? Are you aware that in the book Tarnished Heisman, Suge Knight was discussed as a mediator between Reggie Bush's camp and the other disgruntled parties? Doesn't Suge Knight's presence in various matters relating to SC football appear to be far more than a mere coincidence, since he is certainly not the first name that comes to mind when someone wants a mediator or to give a field pass to a football game for a prestigious academic institution? What is it about Suge Knight and SC football that is not being reported? Why is this person even allowed on the field of an SC football game?

As a sports reporter, do you consider the Seattle Times series on Rick Neuheisel's time as the coach of Washington to be the best investigative reporting ever on college football? What other investigative college football stories from the past would you consider to come close or, even, eclipse the Times series? And has it now upped the ante for what sports reporters will write about above mere depth charts and injuries, considering such reporting goes from being a regional story, with a limited reach and audience, to getting major national coverage?

Do you think the NCAA recently restoring Oklahoma's victories in the 2005 season provides any clues as to their eventual actions in the Reggie Bush inquiry? It looks like the main reason for the OU decision was the Sooners were not ruled to be guilty of "failing to detect the violation."

I realize one difference is OU self-imposed penalties after performing its own internal investigation and also cooperated with the NCAA.

Have we now heard the definitive version from Pete Carroll regarding the Stanford loss and how he would have still kept Booty in the game rather than play Sanchez, or could there possibly be a fourth explanation in the future to explain the loss and what he would have done differently? Is this it and could the book now be closed on PC's version of events and 20/20 hindsight on the Stanford loss?

Does Carroll have to many " yes men " on his current staff? I wonder if any of them have the guts to tell him no, or do they all just go along with whatever Caesar says?

Can you help settle a friendly wager? I say Kevin Love's vertical leap is no more than 3 inches. My friend contends it's at least 4 inches, insisting he has at least once seen daylight between his basketball shoes and the court. Which of us is right?

How has the financial success of the football program had an impact on the University as a whole, the athletic department, and the individual sports other than football?

The basketball team finally found a way to win without Daniel Hackett. Taj Gibson is turning into a monster. Floyd also emptied the bench and there were surprise contributions by the likes of Keith Wilkinson and Ryan Wetherell. With the strong possibility of an NCAA tourney bid, wouldn’t it be wise keep Hackett on the bench until the tournament?

How is Mitch Mustain a different football player today than from when he first enrolled at USC?

There have been some hyped recruits recently that have come to USC that never really lived up to the hype. Guys like Patrick Turner, Whitney Lewis, Keith Rivers, and Darnell Bing have all come to USC with a ton of hype and never really lived up to their expectations. Is this something that could be blamed on the coaching staff for not developing these guys or using these guys more effectively or should more blame go to the recruiting services who overrate these guys?

Just as you reported a couple of weeks ago, it looks like Randall Carroll is going to be a BRUIN? In fact, I just read through a credible source that he has already given his silent commitment to the Bruins... YOUR THOUGHT...

Thanks in advance for answering this Scott. I realize that you have previously reported that Tim Floyd would not replace John Brady, but do you think that if LSU made Floyd the highest paid coach in college basketball, would he leave? Or what would it take to lure Floyd to LSU?

Scott, in hoops, is there a limit on the # of scholarships players you can add per year, similar to football's limit of 25? It seems to me that Coach Floyd also has an unusually large arsenal of open scholarships for next season, similar to our situation in football. I think I count only 10 scholarship players currently on the roster for this season.

How is Lane Kiffin viewed by former players? I am curious to understand where Leinart, Bush, White stood on the Chow vs. Kiffen deal? Also - have former players commented on the direction of the SC program post Chow/Orgeron?

Man am I pissed, I have to agree with Cap. Rivers shouldn't be lumped in with those others. And the only real washout on that list is Lewis. Bing was decent, Turner still has time to deliver.

What's the deal with Dwayne Jarrett's career?

Why can't people let this quarterback situation go and accept that MARK SANCHEZ should start? He was not only, the top QB in 05' (some said Perrilloux... yeah right) but he's been in the program for thrice as long as M.M. years and has played in USC's system, in USC games, for USC. I know Mitch was a top flite recruit, but so was Sanchez. Why can't they give him a break???

After every person who has won the Heisman at USC, there number has been retired. Will Reggie Bush's number 5 be retired anytime soon?

With the recent announcement that the Coliseum would be renamed in the future and the impending return of our hero Mitch Mustain to the gridiron, this raises some serious questions:

1) Is it true that the real reason the Coliseum Commission and USC wanted to rename the stadium was only so they could make a grand announcement that it will be called the Mitch Mustadium?

2) Is the significant price increase for 2008 football season tickets due to the opportunity that USC feels it is granting the masses to see our hero Mitch Mustain in person?

3) Is it any coincidence that Muscle Milk is the official protein supplement sponsor of USC athletics, thus keeping the entire MM theme going and making it a cross-promotional strategy in honor of our hero Mitch Mustain?

4) Will "Mitch and Me" uncover the negotiations that took place behind closed doors before everyone knew that the future of the Coliseum rested on the one factor that brings us all together -- the people of Los Angeles could not be deprived of seeing our hero Mitch Mustain in person?
