Although the search for a graduate assistant focused primarily on a secondary coach, like former cornerback Kris Richard, another candidate's emerged: Pete Rodriguez, who was twice named NFL Special Teams Coach of the Year in the 1990s (1992 with Arizona and 1999 with Seattle).
