Ask Caesar

Here's the reader question we promised to ask this week. We'll start another contest Monday to ask another question.

Q: Do you plan on making any position switches, or at least trying out any players at different positions during the spring?

A: ``There's not going to be too much of that. It doesn't look like it will happen. We don't really have to do it this year because we don't have a lot of injuries and we like where we have guys. I don't see it happening.''

Expanding upon the first question? Because of the depth at WR would you consider moving RoJo to CB because the position appears to be so thin?

Who are you projecting to be the all important LT come the first game of the season?

OK I am not questioning PC but...

didn't clay matthews move to "elephant" position ?

micheal reardon moved back to the offensive line?

the last depth chart I looked at had switched charles brown from LT to RT

well I guess it doesn't matter, knit picking there...anyway, Scott ask him if we are going to have a WR with more the 540 yards receiving this year

Thank you, Scott. I am honored. It was my question that was asked.

I was thinking mainly in terms of trying some individuals at certain positions, such as at corner back, where there are only three scholarship players available for spring practice. David Ausberry to tight end for a few snaps? I wasn't thinking about moving a tackle from one side to another, or switching a center to tackle, or moving a linebacker from strong side to weakside. I was thinking about more noteworthy and less subtle position switches, such as moving an offensive player to the defensive side of the ball. John McKay, the original Caesar, used to do this pretty often and he usually experimented with it during spring practice.

By the way, I think Coach Carroll, aka Caesar II, was being a little evasive with the answer. Just a little. Caesar I could be that way at times, too.

My question was better.

Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
