Q: If they actually wanted to, is it too late for the Reggie Bush camp to settle with Lloyd Lake?

A: No it's not too late, but ego seems to be driving this case. I'm told even some people close to Bush advised he settle but he refused.

Q: Besides the Rose Bowl, the Pac-10 has zero ties to any bowl on Jan. 1st, is there a reason behind this and can we expect the Pac-10 to appear in any January 1st Bowl game in the near future... I'm sick of having to watch the Big 10 in 3 different bowl games on Jan. 1st, lets see a Pac-10 SEC matchup.

A: The Pac-10 used to have one with the Cotton Bowl but believed it was better off making the Holiday Bowl it's No. 2 bowl because of its West Coast proximity. And the Florida bowls are a tough sell because they don't think Pac-10 teams will travel across the country. On this point, I wouldn't disagree, but no one ever mentions how airlines and hotels cost so much more during the Christmas season. I think the Alamo and Cotton bowls are feasible choices if the conference really wanted them. I do think for prestige reasons, it would be nice for the conference to play in another Jan. 1 bowl game.

Q: Why does the ucla blog get good football AND basketball coverage and SC fans are subjected to occassional football insight mixed with a lot of sniping, personal agenda items and weak attempts at open mic night material?

A: Maybe because their readers spell ``occasional'' correctly.

Q: You have said yourself you do not think USC will win another NC without Norm Chow. PC is a tradition guy so i am sure Sanchez will be starting for the next 2 years. And seeing how he did vs. Oregon and our below average WR's, I would say we are looking at more 10-3 seasons and rose bowl or holiday bowl wins. Do you think MG and/or fans will get tired of this somewhere down the road? The bar is way high (set by PC himself) and if we get to 2011 and have not won any more NC will there be pressure on PC and crew?

A: If this were to happen, I don't think Mike Garrett would get tire of the 10-win seasons or millions in football revenue although I suspect some fans would get impatient.
But I do believe the person who might tire of this first would be Pete Carroll. After being in the BCS title games and winning national titles, it definitely would be frustrating to be unable to get back there.

Thanks for the answers Scott, mine was the one about the Bush camp settling.

As far as the January 1st games, I remember the Cotton Bowl being the only out of state bowl games I could really afford as a student and having a great time.

RE: And the Florida bowls are a tough sell because they don't think Pac-10 teams will travel across the country.

WC arrogance is the cause of the FL Bowl not selling out. USC sold all of its alloted tickets for the Orange bowl ins 2003, because there were mailers to the EC residents to buy tickets. However, the EC residents were dissed on the 2005 Orange Bowl tickets, thus USC did not have a good turnout. USC sold all of its allotted tickets for VA TECH and Auburn, and will probably do the same for UVA, and probably would have sold out for New Orleans. WC arrogance prevents itself from understanding that the sun does not set on the entire Trojan Nation.
