Flashback Saturday

The USC football team receives its rings soon for winning the Rose Bowl and Pac-10 title. This reminds me of when the basketball team received rings following its run to the 2001 Elite Eight.
Now there's many things you can put on the ring to honor a team's accomplishments. For example, the football team will have ``six straight'' for its six consecutive Pac-10 championships.
But in a major suck-up move to his boss, an assistant coach who later was forced to resign and inexplicably used by Prime Ticket this season, had ``Bibby's System'' inscribed on the rings.
One player on the team suggested taking a blow torch to one side of his ring.

Which team was better? 2001 vs. 2008?

2001:
PG Brandon Granville
SG Jeff Trepagnier
SF David Bluthenthal
PF Sam Clancy
C Brian Scalabrine

Bench Desmond Farmar....LMAO! (He was Goofy ass punk!)
Kostas Chastisis

2008:
PG Daniel Hackett
SG OJ Mayo
SG/SF Dwight Lewis
PF Davon Jefferson
C Taj Gibson

Bench???? We have no bench!

Personally, I think the best team on paper was last years with Nick and Gabe (2007).

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
