More Mayo
O.J. Mayo was named an all-Pac-10 first-team member. Taj Gibson made the third team. Davon Jefferson was named honorable mention. Mayo and Jefferson were all-freshman selections.Gibson made the all-defensive team while Mayo was honorable mention defense.
Too bad Coach Floyd wasn't Coach of the Year. Or at least Herb Sendek. Trent Johnson had everybody back, including two McDonald's All-Americans.
Totally agree with PLH. Floyd definitely did the best job in the league given the cards he was dealt, and Sendek should have been a close 2nd. I also believe the league missed it on player of the year with Love. Should have been Lopez or Ryan Anderson. The old argument is that the MVP should go to the best player on the best team, but Love was obviously surrounded by an all star team. Not sure he was even the MVP of his team, although he is clearly a great talent. Floyd is quickly establishing himself as an elite national coach, IMO, who is going to take us to the promised land. Top 10 football and hoops programs at the same time? It's good to be a Trojan.
