It was a *helluva* lot better than Booty's rating after the Stanford disaster, not to mention the fat, 13-9 egg J. D. laid vs. Ucla in 2006! And, by the way, if your handle is a tribute to the former Muir HS/USC tailback, the name is spelled "Ervins."

Sanchez lost value of an entire Euro from the first to third day of spring training? That's pretty significant.

I have been to the practices and Sanchez is only ahead due to time in the system. He has not done anything on the field this past week to impress anyone and I am not sure he has the tools. He was intercepted on Friday when he threw into double coverage, which seemed to be the consensus among the observers to be a typical bonehead move by him.

Mustain has been quite good but not as strong as this last fall. He threw the best pass on Friday with a beautiful throw that landed right in the hands of the receiver and fooled the defensive line.

Corp has been surprisingly impressive. In a blind trial, he would probably be ahead of Sanchez based on the three practices and only slightly behind Mustain. He has been very consistent.

So far, none of the three have broken out and Sanchez certainly does not appear to be in command. If he continues the way he has been playing, I do not think he will be the starter.

Sanchez comes across very, very bad in that Sporting News story. Lots of laws broken and comments about how he is taunted by fans at away games, constantly being called a rapist, which is what people within the university always feared would happen.

My view of Sanchez just dropped after reading that. He is NOT someone who should be at USC.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
