Simmons arraigned
USC recruit Maurice Simmons was arraigned today at the Compton Courthouse. The charges were second-degree robbery, assault with a firearm and permitting a loaded firearm in a vehicle, according to the district attorney's office.
Another person, Lamont Hall, faced the first two charges, but also had possession of a firearm by a felon with a prior conviction.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26.

I recall an acquaintance (he still calls me from his cell every month) I had back in '93 who had this secret life, and ended up receiving a sentence of 25 years (he has served 15 and has 10 to go). I told him at the time of his arraignment that "He was the golden boy who had it all, and he threw it all away."-- He cried when I told him that.
History repeats itself every day on the mean streets of Los Angeles.
The problem is that one cannot tell young men how to behave. But one only hopes that the troubles they get into won't land them in jail.
Well... he hasn't been found guilty yet.
Lawyer John,
I call people from my cell all the time, it's no big deal. Or wait, did you mean PRISON cell? Shit, that's different.
LOL.. You guys are funny, funnier then Scott.. (I know that's not hard)

Are you a criminal lawyer? Pardon my ignorance.
1. Let's assume he's an accomplice.
2. Let's also assume that it is first criminal offense.
3. What are his chances?
Thanks,
El Capitán
