SW, so what is PC looking for this spring? Does he expect anyone to step and perhaps "shock" him? Fight On!

From what you have seen of Mitch Mustain in action on the field, when a scripted play is falling apart or does not look like it could be successfully executed, has he been able to make adjustments and improvise a different play?

Which quarterback performed and impressed the most in the four scrimmages last season?

O.J Mayo is a very smart young man (scored a 29 on his ACT, placing him in the 95th percentile nationally). But SC has not lived up to all the preseason hype and he has dropped over this season on some of the mock NBA draft websites - insidehoops had him #2 last November, now he's #8. Still an excellent position, but most TV/Radio analysts say he be better served staying in school and developing more. From a financial standpoint, wouldn't it be worth it for him to wait and go higher (1 or 2) in the draft next year? Especially since the NBA has guaranteed contracts.

Will Lil' Romeo ever see the court when he comes to USC and do you think his scholarship will be renewed once Demar DeRozan announces that he is leaving USC early to enter the NBA draft?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mitch passed for a touchdown against the Trojans during his first game at Arkansas. Assuming at some point he throws for a touchdown with the Trojans during his career, will he be the first player to throw a TD for and against USC? Have any running backs achieved a running TD for/against USC?

I read on Brian Dohn's blog that UCLA DT Kevin Brown might be participating at the USC Pro Day because he did not participate at UCLA's. How often do non-USC players participate at USC's Pro Day, particularly how many Bruins participate at USC?

In the first half of the UCLA game, Alfred Aboya was clearly fouled and went to the foul line. Russell Westbrook is seen waving him off and Kevin Love stepped up in his place. Fortunately due to some quick action by Tim Floyd, the mistake was caught and Aboya put back at the line. My question is this. Should not UCLA have been whistled for a technical foul for intentionally putting someone else at the foul line than the person who was clearly fouled?

Wolfman,

Re: Norm Chow. What are the details of his compensation by UCLA & the Titans? i.e. (How much does he get paid and by whom for how long? Also, do you think when his salary drops significantly after the Titans stop paying him, this would affect his decision to stay at UCLA?)
Thanks.

I am under the impression that part of the USC football team scholarships are paid for through an endowment given the University. If so, how does that work and how many scholarships are paid that way? If not, never mind. Sorry about a second question, but if this is true, are any other sports treated this way?

Who do you think will leave first: Caesar to the NFL or Floyd(I don't think you have a nickname for him yet) to a high profile college basketball school?

I recently read a bit of seemingly enlightening information to me. The primary reason for the decrease in TOs in football for the last two years is that the coaches bought into the dream team linebacker concept, and used 4 linebackers in 3rd down passing situations rather than a nickel package with 5 DBs. Does this sound legit to you? Did we used to use a nickel package on 3rd down quite a bit in pre-2005, then start adding a 4th LB and avoiding the nickel package post 2005? It would make sense to me since we were so deep at LB the last few years, and while TOs decreased, our scored against avg, yards against, etc. held up. Coaches just adjusting to use the best athletes. Thoughts Scott?

Matt Leinart was known for having a very accurate, but not particularly strong, arm. I have read where you have said that Mitch Mustain also has a very accurate throw but you have never mentioned whether he is strong or not. So is he accurate and strong, or just accurate?

HI SCOTT

A local paper said last fall that MM had trouble in the locker room with some of his fellow players, and also had trouble with coach Nutt, even while he was still in high school.
The same paper, this past week, reported that MM received a controversial e-mail from a booster while at Arkansas, and that MM's attorney requested university e-mails re this incident, and that coach Nutt's cellphone records were requested.
When asked about this, MM replied that he did not want to talk about it.
I'm not sure how to phrase my question, so I'll just ask you--in general--do you have any details--or thoughts, feelings, comments, that you can share with us on this matter? Thanx in advance.
I should add that I don't wish to do even the slighest bit of harm to any Trojan, and my question is more oriented to the area of--did MM possibly receive a death threat, or somethink akin to it, and how did Nutt's cellphone records become a part of this whole chaos? Thanx again.

Did Luis send you an email asking you to ask those questions? I think so. Don't play a fool for him.

Completely agree, El Capitan (AKA Luis) sent Tirebiter an email to post those many inappropriate questions. I think Scott is wise enough to realize that and not answer that question nor entertain such transparent attempts by El Capitan to attack Mustain due to a racial agenda.

Hi Scott -
Do you know when tickets go on sale for next season? There's probably somewhere on usctrojans.com that I could find this, but that mess of a web site just isn't worth my time to search.

Thanks!!

Hey George Tirebiter, there was NO "local paper that said last fall that MM had trouble in the locker room with some of his fellow players." The LA Times never ran any such story, so stop making up such lies.

Seriously, it is so obvious to read through your thinly-veiled BS that was written by that idiot that the readers above have correctly identified. He was already outed by everyone else and disappeared and now you're doing his dirty work for him. Have some self-respect, man!

I read on Pete Carroll's blog that there is an all new offensive playbook being prepared for spring training with completely new plays. So how much of the entire playbook (percentage wise) is all new and how much is brought over from last year? Are any plays from last year being removed?

I did not get 'round 5' of answers last week
so maybe my last week's question was answered.
But since I didn't get it I'd like to ask it again:
What is the difference between a greyshirt and
preferred walk-on?

Scott,

I have a two parter again for you, and if you could answer one or both I'd appreciate it. In light of spring practice almost nearly upon us, in your opinion, what do you think we can expect from the untested/unproven big tailbacks this year (namely A.Bradford, M.Taylor and B.Green) and who do you see making the most significant impact among them...thanks!

Hey Scott!
What’s the story with the idiot in the striped pink jacket and jester hat? Is he a long lost relative of yours, or is he a member of the Papadakis clan? If he goes to Omaha maybe they can put him in a home there.
