Air Corp

Aaron Corp was the star quarterback of the scrimmage, completing 13 of 16 passes for 158 yards and three touchdowns. Pete Carroll was quick to point out it occurred against the second team, but other quarterbacks in past seasons did not tear it up like this against the second team.
``He had a couple situations where he made the wrong read and made the play anyways,'' Carroll said. ``He was relaxed.''

I was glad to read Pete's praise of Aaron Corp. Since high school he has always been a gamer with the intangibles that don't show up on stat sheets. He has the Matt Leinert type instincts that pull rabbit's out of hats when necessary. I predict he will be starting Q by mid season and will lead SC to the 'Big Show' in January. Yep, he will prove to be that good!....JohnA

Coach has always been a one quarterback guy. What does he do now that he has three QBs of comparable skills? August 30 at Virginia is over 4-months away. A lot can still happen, although Sanchez will certainly start that game.

Pete put it perfectly. Two of Corp's TDs were terrible reads but instances where he made the play anyways. Corp's got skill and great feet, no doubt but that last TD in the OT period would have been picked 9 times out of 10. And yes, a lot of Corp's success was due to the inconsistent pressure brought by the 2nd and 3rd team D. He avoided the pressure well when it did come (his 2nd TD was the best by any QB all day) but it was nowhere as consistent as the pressure Sanchez saw throughout. That 1st team defense is no joke...the secondary looks fantastic.

Sanchez actually impressed me a lot. He was calm throughout and made some great relaxed throws. His TD to Miller was his 4th read on that play and he also had sone great checkdown to Johnson as well. I don't hold the terrible int. on the flea flicker against him - that play looked awful from the snap and everything about it was a bad idea.

Mustain was totally lost. He's still got a lot of te offense to grasp and it shows. It's not an easy offense to learn...Corp appears to be ahead of the curve though and will be a huge challenge to Barkley.
