Mayo statement
``I am so thankful for the fans and alumni at USC and around the nation that have been so supportive of me and my teammates throughout the season. I’d like to express my appreciation to my coaches and teammates for their support in one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made. I will be entering the 2008 NBA draft. I am going to finish the semester here at USC and then focus on preparing for the NBA draft.
``Attending USC has been such a great experience for me and has really helped prepare me for my next step in life.’’

Well, that was no surprise. He would have gone to the pros out of high school if the one-year rule was not passed. Thus, USC is lucky to have him for one year, as he was a big part of USC's success this year. He was exciting to watch, although I wish he would have gone to the hoop more often than settling for 3-pt shots. Attendance increased, as did USC's BB profile. USC-KSU was the most hyped first round match-up. USC beat UCLA once, and played evenly with Kansas and Memphis. As long as he stays in class (and thus shows his class all the way to the end), both sides got what they wanted.
OJ's decision to turn prp is a no-brainer if he is a lottery pick. It is irrelevant that he could improve his draft position by staying another year in college. He will be getting paid millions of dollars guaranteed. Plus, he will be 21 yrs old this year. Life is too short (as is the career of an NBA player) to wait one year, and thus pass up guaranteed money like that.
Good Luck, OJ

Geez, sorry about that. I just wanted to correct a typo.
I agree, best of luck to him
