Notice something Scott? Notice that you didn't even bother to put Mustain on the list? He was awful at the scrimmage and seemed totally lost.

Maybe the coaches favoring Sanchez over Mustain from the beginning wasn't such a stretch after all. Mustain's not ready...and if naming Mark the starter gives him that little bit of confidence to put him over the edge (ala Matt Leinart) then I think they made the right decision whether or not it happened when you or any USC fan thought it should.

I'm not for or against any of our QBs but the coaches clearly think naming Mark the starter now could have an effect on his performance. We'll see if that bears out. I'm interested to see how Mustain deals with it - he didn't exactly handle it well when he wasn't playing in Arkansas.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
