I enjoyed his skills, but his lack of maturity really showed. Especially with respect, or lack of, to his coaching and team discipline demands. He made many poor decisions thus far and this latest one just follows suit. I wish the kid the best but seriously doubt that he'll become a successful NBA'r. He most likely will end up in Europe or Asia somewhere trying to eek out a living playing hoops.

Can't add much to what Goliathtrojan said. He did have his moments i.e. ucla at Pauley was the best. But he did not stand out most of the time. And the fact that he dissed Coach Floyd speaks volumns about the guy. I mean, if you cannot get along with Tim Floyd, you've got problems. And 'Jeff' had problems, and unfortunately his problems will follow him wherever his travels take him.

Of course he was a Trojan, even if only for a 'cup of coffee,' and our Troy family wishes him the very best.

But he would have been more successful i.e. made more money, if he had stayed and developed under Coach's tutelage for another year, or preferably, another 2-years. But these poor young men cannot wait. The possibility of immediate riches is so intoxicating.

I think we have to draw the line somewhere on questionable character guys whose sole desire is to be one and done for the NBA. Despite the media hype, OJ was a high character kid who was an outstanding student-athlete representative of USC and made an easy decision to take incredible money. Davon is a questionable character guy who did not take his student-athlete responsibilities seriously and who was only trying to use SC as a stepping stone. Now, if I'm Tim Floyd, it would be hard to screen these kids and pass up on Davon. I'm sure Floyd thought he might be able to help Davon mature throughout the year. But, he hasn't changed, is a bad rep for SC especially if he costs us a scholarship, and he is making a horrible decision. He'll either be in Poland, Portugal,or Kazakhstan next year after he is cut for giving attitude to his D-league coach and will likely never play in the NBA.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
