Quick recap

Mitch Mustain threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Ronald Johnson on his first pass of the scrimmage, so that got things off to a rousing start for him. He also threw a 35 yards touchdown pass to Johnson.
It should be noted, because the coaches will look at this, that Mustain went against the second-team defense. When he went against the first team in the second half, it was much more difficult.
But he did give everyone something to think about.
Mark Sanchez struggled a little on the first series but then was very solid after that. Aaron Corp was OK.
``It was hard on Mark in the first sequence, then he got command,'' USC coach Pete Carroll said. ``Mitch was the beneficiary of those two big bombs. He's got them in him.The No. 2 defense gave up those two bombs.''

Key for Mitch is just the fact that he gains confidence, timing and that "one on one" relationship with RoJo, which becomes a bigger key. So no matter if this was dones against the 1st or 2nd team "D", it will bode well for both Mitch and RoJo. Fight On!

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
