Record draft day

USC's seven picks in the first two rounds were the most in school history. Previously, USC had five players taken in the first two rounds in 1968 and 2006. Sedrick Ellis was selected seventh and Keith Rivers ninth. The last time USC had two top-10 picks was in 1990.

Jill, can you please take over for Scott full time? It's a pleasure to read this blog without any snarky comments.

She is a breathe of fresh air isn't she. This has be great to read from her. I hope she puts arsenic in his morning coffee, so she becomes full-time with this.

Love for everyone... Jill, Scott, our athletes who got picked today and represented well, others who will be picked tomorrow! With all the Haterade being dished out at the program by the prognosticators, it's great to see that our players are getting the respect we fans think they deserve. Fight On!

What about in 2006, Reggie Bush was number 2 and Matt Lenart was 10. Lendale, Justice, and Lututi were in the second round and Matua was in the seventh round. Justice and LenDale should have been first rounders but slipped for character issues and being out of shape.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
