Q: You recently wrote that if USC had to play a game tomorrow Alex Parsons would be the starting right guard(my reply comment was I am glad USC does not have to play a game tomorrow). I know Zach Heberer is coming off the injury list and is just starting to practice, but what about Thomas Herring? It would seem to me he would start ahead of Alex Parsons at right guard, unless he was also on the injury list.

A: Herring got a lot reps late in the week. Heberer would be my top choice if healthy and then Parsons and Herring would depend on who practiced best that week.

Q: With the quarterbacks rapidly losing value in the Euro, and Corp expected to be the first one to hit zero value in the next few days, what date do you anticipate all three will be in debt to the European Central Bank? Will the EU member states then stage an intervention to salvage the USC quarterbacks or will they allow the situation to lapse into bankruptcy?

A: The EU member states met this weekend and decided to ship the quarterbacks to Belarus if things do not improve quickly. Or even worse, the United States.

Q: I have been to the practices including the Tuesday session, and while I understand that Mustain and Corp are having trouble due to not having been in the system particularly long, then what on earth is the excuse for why Sanchez is performing so poorly after three long years in the system? I have to be honest, after three years, Sanchez does not have IT. Not even close. I have not seen any growth from his freshman year and I am not the only one who feels this way. There is no reason for him to be making these basic errors so long into his time at SC. I do not know what the solution is but the way things are going, Sanchez will be named the starter not based on talent or having won anything on the field, but based on the default of having been in the system the longest time. After three years, Sanchez has shown nothing and I am convinced that unless we revert to a running game, there is no way that with Sanchez at QB, SC could even go better than 8-4 or 7-5 next season and definitely no national championship.

A: OK.

Q: Now that it looks like Sanchez will be named the starting quarterback based more on "experience" rather than any particular display of talent, there is a very strong likelihood that he may struggle in actual game situations. So if Sanchez does happen to struggle during games (which, let's be honest, is going to happen with him), do you think that for the first time in the Pete Carroll era, a change at the quarterback position could be made during the season? Or do you think that Pete will keep Sanchez in game after game until the end of the season, even if he is having major problems?

A: I asked this question and was told that no one likes making a change. But let’s face it, if the offense struggles, there would be a pressure to make a change. Especially from the readers of this blog! The legions! The Romans!

If Pete Carroll started making personnel decisions based on pressure from the readers of this blog, I'd call for him to be let go.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
