Scrimmage strategy
USC used quite a bit of shotgun today, a few days after practicing it extensively. The offense also used a ``silent count'' when snapping the ball. This is a way to keep the defense off balance, because they are so used to the offensive snap count from practice. It sometimes got the best of the offensive, which had several false starts.
And is it time to express concern about the run defense? USC allowed five runs more than 20 yards.

well Scott...it's spring ball and fili and spicer aren't that bad..I am sure they will get it fixed.
Probably some blown assignments (again) by "rey rey"
should be "hey hey--- cover your gap stupid"
the defense is fine. The question we have is..is any WR going to make an effort to catch a ball this year? Without WR's we are down to runs and short passes which is easy to cut off..bring up the LB's and safeties, Double cover the TE and end of story...see the Oregon game last year.
Turner and Hazelton are counting they days to the NFL. Don't wanna risk an injury when their millions are at stake. Turner has been here for 4 years and done squat. If he cared a lick about USC he would of been a star by now. The same for his evil young apprentice V. Hazelton and the equally worthless D. Ausberry. Show me the money.
Sanchez is brain dead but he will be adequate against a weak Pac 10 this year. Same for the O line..at least the left side and hopefully Charles Brown will do OK.
What The coaches need to do is play all the WR's in the first 2 games. Whoever gets open and catches the ball, you start. The rest, bench is over there. I don't care how long PT has been here or if V. Hazelton was #1 WR in his class. They are hurting the team. And to me, that would make the starters D. Williams and ronald Johnson.
