Another Versus Conference item involving the always hot topic of cheerleaders should be investigated also. The Arizona State Cheerleading Squad has apparently been banned from all sporting events, including football, for next year. The only sideline spirit will be provided by "Sparky's Crew", which have megaphones and signs, but are decidedly not cheerleaders.

As is common nowadays, the cheerleaders got busted for posing while intoxicated in pictures in only their underwear. Pictures of course that wound up on a popular Scottdale Web site.

If that's the best Arizona State can do, the cheerleading squad should have been disbanded before the pictures became public.
