Forget Mitch Mustain

Every year I get older but the Song Girls stay the same age...paraphrasing the film DAZED AND CONFUSED.

I never thought I'd miss the Mitch Mustain talk.

Until the UVA kickoff on Aug 30, my sole focus will be trying to find a way to get Brennan Carroll on the Song Girl Selection Committee. Tim Tessalone, please add a younger member of sports admin to the committee, like BC, who can represent the virtuous perspectives of this board in selecting the public female faces of USC - the Song Girls! I say we get a petition going! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!? Hell no! Who's with me?

There is a huge difference between the tone of the two topics. With Mitch Mustain, people are always asking questions about him out of interest and they are decidedly pro-Mitch. With the Song Girls, everyone appears to be angry over what has happened to the squad.

Whoever is heading that squad is clearly not doing their jobs. The univeristy needs to make some big changes selecting girls because the squad has just been embarassing this decade.

The Song Girl committee IS doing their job. The Song Girl advisors have put together an amazing squad this year as they have every year. These girls are beautiful, extremely talented dancers, and represent our school better than any of you wack jobs ever could. Do something with your lives instead of trying to pick a part these girls!!!

This year's Song Girls are frankly average looking, not even on the par with the Natalie Nelson squads. They're better dancers though, many of them being former Trojan Dance Force members. But, average looking.

Certainly USC could do better.
