Yet another Song Girl question!
Q: Every decade USC has at least one star running back. The stars for Running Back University include Arnett,Garrett, Simpson, Bell, White,Davis, Allen, Bush, White and others. In the other decades there was always a debate who was that one star, but in the 90s it is difficult to find even one, who was or were that star running back for USC in that time? Also, who currently on this year's team will be the next to be on this list
A: Maybe that's one reason why the 90's were considered the worst decade in USC football history. Things changed considerably obviously with Reggie Bush and LenDale White. On the current roster, Stafon Johnson could put up big numbers if he stays healthy and gets enough carries. If Joe McKnight stops fumbling and shows he can be an every-down back, he might be able to become a marquee back.
Q: Are there any members of the coaching staff or sports admin office on the Song Girls' Selection Committee? Did the coach of the Song Girls recuse herself from the vote for obvious conflict of interest reasons? Is there any truth to the rumor that several members of the Selection Committee are cozy with the LA Coliseum Committee? To the best of your knowledge, has Gloria Allred, a known contributor of the UCLA Spirit Squad, ever been involved in a lawsuit against the Song Girls or their Selection Committee? Is there any truth to the rumor that Traveler, the most qualifed committee member, sells his vote on the Selection Committee for candied apples?
A: As I've said before, Tim Tessalone, the sports information director, is on the selection committee.
The first thing they need to do to updgrade the Song Girls is to institute the funnel test.
I volunteer to administer this test, don't really want to, but I feel I owe it to them.

Seriously, what happened to the entire "spirit" section? The song girls are starting to look like horses! Plus, they got rid of the yell leaders. I mean, they were cheesy, but that was part of the fun. I miss the human surf board and the ambiguously gay push-ups. Bring them back and get rid of the generic group in the red outfits. At least do flips or something!
The terrible state of the Song Girl Squad has been brewing for quite some time now. I think most of us have finally hit our their limit this year. At games, all I hear are people saying over and over that the squad just isn't cutting it. It hasn't for years. And that's the sad truth.

where do you guys get off saying that our song girl squad is ugly? those girls are unreal. we just had one of our song girls elected cheerleader of the week on cnnsi.com. what does that say about our squad?
i don’t know if you guys are just jealous or angry you can't get with any of them. i know every one of those girls from the past 4 years i have attended and the current squad. they are all amazingly beautiful, intelligent and personable girls that represent our university and teams very, very, very well.
so for all you idiots who are complaining about the squad, get over yourself and get a better life.
Chris Penrose = pathetic walk-on basketball player and total geek. One of the ugliest SOBs and a hanger-on who accomplished nothing. If you ask any of the Song Girls about Penrose, they will laugh about whether he is a "friend" of theirs. Fact.

Who knows if it's the real Penrose or not, but whoever it is, he is coming across as a douchebag in post after post.
