Mayo Pro and Con
Some things in USC's favor regarding the O.J. Mayo:
The NCAA did an eligibility check on Mayo before it certified him through the NCAA Clearinghouse.
USC's compliance office also banned Rodney Guillory from receiving tickets to its home games.
Some things not in USC's favor:
Guillory and Louis Johnson, who blew the whistle and went to ESPN, were regular fixtures in the USC locker room at the Galen Center the year before Mayo enrolled.
Guillory had his run of the basketball facilities and Tim Floyd personally informed him when the compliance office denied the tickets.
``Tim Floyd was heartbroken,'' Guillory told me.
None of this is to say USC will or will not be penalized. The first day is always the worst day to make predictions, but that will not stop fans, of course.
Also, the investigations done before Mayo enrolled did not have any of the documentation provided by Johnson to ESPN. So the NCAA will renew its look into Mayo.

Mr Wolf - Are you embarassed that you and your paper have now been scooped again?
I can't imagine their sources are better than yours. Thus, are you just ignoring and not printing anything you learn that might reflect badly on SC or do you not view yourself as a news reporter?
Has their been any discussion of Mr Harvey resigning from the Daily Trojan, sorry I mean la times? He should because I have seen better coverage of the news from middle school papers.
You guys should be embarassed.
Sorry Mr Harvey is at the Times - You should resign Mr Wolf because you sir are NO journalist.

trashes USC, I guess the reporter must be from Notre Dame. Also, it is not USC fault that OJ Mayo took money behind there back at least it wasn't from a booster. Alo, people forget this happens all the time, Greg Oden, Michael Beasley and the other millions of college to pro stars got money, so it is not right to blame USC for being exposed Florida, Texas and Ohio State have stars most likely that have allegdly tooken cash, cars, and other benefits.
