Montana Question

A reader asks about Joe Montana's son coming to USC.

Q: Sports Illustrated is reporting that Nicholas Montana, the son of Joe Montana, is going to be walking on as a quarterback at USC, while his older brother, Nate, is heading to Notre Dame next season (also walking on as a quarterback). So what have you heard about the younger Montana son coming to USC?

A: I looked into this subject specifically because of this question and was told Joe Montana's younger son is not going to USC, at least for now. He is only going to be a junior and is either 15 or 16, so why would he walk on at USC before even knowing if he can get a scholarship somewhere?
USC looked more at the older brother, Nathaniel, who is going to Notre Dame this fall. The younger Montana, who is shorter than his brother, might eventually show up but as of right now, no one at USC knows anything about it.

The same story that mentioned Nate attending Notre Dame also said that Joe's younger son will NOT be following his brother (and 2 older sisters) to ND. Then his hs coach laughed and said the kid likes USC, so it should be an interesting year in that house. Maybe the questioner read more into that.
