About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Is it just me or do you seem to have some dislike towards the USC TMB?
What were the recent off the field problems which NFL teams were referring to for why they did not draft Drew Radovich? Does it not seem rather foolish of Radovich to jeopardize his future so close to the NFL draft?
The NCAA just released its "Academic Progress Report." Where does USC stand in football and basketball? Is USC in danger of losing any scholarships? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Can you confirm or deny that individuals affiliated with USC paid a visit to the home of the alleged victim in the Mark Sanchez sexual assault case? If such a visit did take place, would that not constitute an NCAA violation of extra benefits?
Is Brennan Carroll's coaching job at USC a pure product of nepotism or does the man have some coaching abilities. Can you also comment on Brennan's role in the development of Byrd and Davis. Thanks.
Scott:
I saw on a recent answer session that you would not confirm that the sequel to "Mitch and Me" is called "The Electric Boogaloo," so your loyal readers need clarification on what you meant. Did you mean that it is definitely NOT called "The Electric Boogaloo"? Or were you saying that you simply were not able to publicly confirm the name of the sequel as "The Electric Boogaloo"? Personally, I think that's a great title for the sequel, since it shows how Mitch has adapted to urban life in LA and anything with "Electric Boogaloo" in the title is intriguing!
anyone know what "USC wan-whatver" is talking about?
How could visiting a woman's home be "extra benefits"?
What we got here is a UCLA, Michigan, or SEC fan using a USC nick...:o))
Scott...
do you see the Bush/Lake trial getting to the point of PC actually being on the witness stand? Will he be "pumped" and "excited" about that? Just for your personal opinion, do you think any of the coaches knew what was going on? (I understand if you can't answer that)
Do you see a Wayne Huizenga/some NFL bailout by PC coming out of this? worse case scenario?
i.e. All kinds of dirty details come out of Bush taking money and USC knew about it and the subsequent sanctions/loss of scholarships/TV bans causes Pete to jump to the NFL>?
OK thanks Scott I know each person is only allowed 1 question.
It's very hard for me to understand what Bush is thinking. He gets into this mess by associating with quesionable people, then pays off some of them, but not the worst one..then does a 180 and keeps asking for gag orders and not talking about it to try to protect USC, I guess, but won't payoff the guy and/or go to court to end all this...so it just keeps rolling along making USC look worse..
he's gonna have a spot right next to OJ simpson at the "don't ever return to USC" table...
I assume that Pete Carroll gives instruction/coaching to any player on the team, and that Sarkisian and Holt coach/yell at any and all Offensive and Defensive players respectively.
Given that, does say a Ken Norton Jr. have the lattitude to coach/yell at/instruct say a QB or TB or can say a Pat Ruel coach/yell at/instruct a Linebacker or DB? I assume all coaches have general knowledge of all positions, but do they primarily stick to their assigned job or do some freelance into other domains? Any examples of problems with coaches coaching "out of position" you can recount?
Hey Scott: Who that you know of is USC going after the hardest as far as 2009 football recruits are concerned? Who do you think they will get and who do you predict they will loose out on? THANKS!!!
Scott: Is this Randall Carroll business the reason many people are in support of an early signing date?
Why doesn't Randall Carroll come out now and say that he has opened back up his recruitment?
I know he is only a junior in high school but isn't it disrespectful to the Trojans?
Do you think it almost seems like Neuheisel has told him to stay committed to USC until the end and then switch to UCLA?
Should they have an early signing rule that basically says if you commit to a program early on and then change your mind, you loose a year of eligibility?
Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush vs Petros Papadakis and you. Who wins in a street brawl?
Your new servers are on fire! Are they Dell? If they are they’ll be dead by the end of next week.
Do you think if USC is winning by alot in the second half, will the coaches let Mustain and/or Crop play the remaining series of the game? It is a great idea, both can split series letting them have game time and letting coaches and fans get to see them play.So what is the chance we see either or both with the first or second team at the end?
SW, after watching Everson Griffen this spring, do you think that he is capable of having a "monster" season in 08? Fight On!
Why are major recruits like Craig Loston, Logan Heastie, Russell Shepard, and Donte Moss not vsiting to USC and commiting too early. How is the recruiting class shaping for next year? It has been quiet for USC commitments the last couple of months, is there another letdown like last year? Also, is Rick stealing the recruits.

Any updates on Hershel Dennis, Desmond Reed or any of the other undrafted players?
What is the update on Maurice Simmons and his stiuation? Will he play next year at USC.
Scott,
Do you still take interest in Rosary high school basketball anymore? Or, not? Since it appears that their glory days are over

SW, what is "USC walk-on tape" you say Rick Neuheisel pushing to recruits?
SW, what is the "USC walk-on tape" that you say Rick Neuheisel is pushing to recruits?
Which will happen first?
1) Another UCLA quarterback will blow out a body part before the 2008 season even begins.
2) Rick Neuheisel wins the California Lottery Big Spin and steps down as UCLA coach, then starts his own online handicapping service.
3) UCLA hires the construction crew that built the Green Monster in Fenway Park to put a 30-foot extension atop the wall surrounding its football practice field.
4) Norm Chow, realizing the talent level is so low on the current roster, starts a bonfire at UCLA's first football pep rally next season by taking a match to his famed playbook.
5) Rick Neuheisel plants a mole in the next group of walk-on tryouts at USC, but the mole is found out and squeals like a gutless little bruin always does. The USC coaches take pity on him and let him go without punishment after the gutless little bruin soils himself, and it is caught on videotape.
Scott,
Of the new guys coming in from this year's class, in your mind, who is the most important for the team in terms of developing fast/early and contributing right away? Thanks!
For the basketball team, what is the starting lineup looking like will this team me more balanced? Also, will Tim Floyd recruit players who will stay at least two years?
Will USC ever run a two quarterback system, the last two BCS Champions had two quarterbacks, one pocket passer and one runner. Three if you count, Texas with superstar Vince Young, he was a passer and (ask Darnell Bing, Dallas Startz and the other Trojans) a runner.LSU used Ryan Perriloux and Matt Flynn and Florida used Chris Leak and Tim Tebow. Even the Arizona Cardinal used Warner and Leinart together for a time. Sanchez( athletic ) can be supported by both Mustain( accurate passer) and/or Crop(runner). Think about all the formations for USC, other defenses cannot handle all the plays and the quarterbacks. So will USC follow the pattern?
Scott,
I am not fully aware of the in depth details of scholarship and letter of intent signings and thus I am wondering if a sort of stipulation can be added to this process to ensure an individual serves out the duration of the scholarship or at the very least finishes out a semester (much like Mayo and Jefferson) and if the individual does not a penalty would then result (i.e. repayment of the tuition).
Thanks
There are 28 questions above and not one concerning the Girlie Gauntlet. Does this constitute incontrovertible proof that no one at USC gives a crap about the glove? What if we let El Capitán borrow it to give those Ruins a proper military… nah.
Scott:
I have been looking all over to try to purchase a USC Official Baseball Team Cap but can't seem to find it anywhere. Where can I get one? Please let me know if I can purchase it online.

Hey Scott, what are the troubles that Drew Radovich got himself into that scared NFL teams away from drafting him? I keep reading and hearing about it from the various NFL teams but cannot find anything about what the actual troubles were. Thanks in advance.
Did USC Sports Information Director Tim Tessalone joining the selection committee for the USC Song Girls in 2006 have anything to do with the administration being angry at how the daughter of the Song Girls coach became an international figure when she was caught cheering for Texas during the BCS game earlier that year? So did the USC administration figure that by having Tessalone be a part of the selection process, they would rein in the two ladies who allowed the squad to drop to an all-time low, filled with nepotism and squad members who were ignorant of the most basic requirements of which team to even cheer for? Could we blame Tessalone for why the current squad is also mired in very unattractive members for yet another year?
HI SCOTT
Well, my last two questions about Emily Nerland and PCs' private cell phone number went unanswered, so I guess I have to ask a legit question--ok--here goes: I thought that THOMAS HERRING would be a starter by now--what are the chief reasons why he isn't? Thanx in advance, and, as always, thanx for having the open forums.
PS. What I mean is---he appears to have the size and athleticism, so what has been holding him back?
Scott, was the walk-on football tape that prominently featured Carroll's son sponsored by USC and, if so, why...when it reflects so poorly on the walk-on process at USC?
Scott, can you go back to your sources and get a little more context for "Walk-ongate"? Frankly, I'm puzzled. I've watched the video now probably three or four times and I'm not seeing it. What exactly is Neuheisel telling recruits about SC based on the tape that he thinks will be effective in swaying them to UCLA (or at least away from USC)? He can't possibly think they'll choose UCLA because a USC coach drops a few F-bombs on the practice field. And what do your sources indicate the recruits' response to the video has been? Are they swayed at all? Or do they think Neuheisel's a fool for even bringing it up?
My thoughts on the video:
1) Certainly Brendan Carroll is fired up and uses colorful language about four or five times at the beginning of the tape, but there's nothing there that doesn't happen on every football practice field I've ever been on or the halls of any high school I've ever walked through, any day of the year.
2) These are *walk-ons* being evaluated for a possible spot, not recruits. I would imagine the recruits probably view themselves quite differently from the walk-ons.
3) This is a football practice, not a tea party. Does he think recruits will be put off by a fast-tempo, high-intensity practice? And if so, what the heck are his practices like?
4) In the same video, Carroll also shows himself at times to be instructive, to be encouraging, to show concern (over a winded player down on the sidelines), and to dole out both criticism and praise when each are warranted.
5) His greatest criticism is reserved for Ben Malcolmson, the former walk-on who runs his dad's web site and PRODUCED THE VIDEO. It was obviously an inside wink.
6) Oh, and after all the joshing, they took FIVE walk-ons.
7) One other thing... Isn't Brendan Caroll in charge of USC's recruiting efforts? Several years of top-10 recruiting classes would seem to indicate that he's actually pretty good with recruits.
Scott:
Are you positive that the issues regarding Drew Radovich's off-field problems are a case of mistaken identity? I am only saying this because the New England Patriots have even mentioned it on a [ress release on their official website:
http://www.patriots.com/news/index.cfm?ac=latestnewsdetail&pid=31817&pcid=46
As someone else noted on your blog, would NFL teams and their investigators really risk ruining someone's life and career over something as basic as mistaking him for someone else? It's not as if Radovich is a common name that could be mistaken for someone's else name. My understanding is that the NFL does very thorough background checks, especially these past two years with their new "morality clause" (or whatever they are calling it) that was tested last year with Eric Wright, so they are not going to leave much to chance.
I do not know anything positive or negative about Radovich but judging by the numerous mentions of these issues that numerous sources say he had, from before, during and after the draft, there may be more to this story.
Petros Papadakis is supposed to a question and answer on WeAREsc on Saturday. If you could ask Petros any question what would you ask him?
