Petros v. Big Joe

Nothing like a two guys at the same radio station going at it. And we thought only people at TrojanTV hated each other.http://www.insidesocal.com/tomhoffarth/archives/2008/05/joe_said_petros.html#more

I've had it with the Big Nasty who has worked at like 100 different radio stations during his career.
He is the "Poorman"* of sports talk radio and his fascination with fake wrestling is an insult to all legitimate sports fans.

Petros is way more enrertaining, talented, and witty than Joe Mac will ever be.

*Former KROQ DJ Jim Trenton who co-hosted Loveline with Dr. Drew before destroying his career. He can now be seen late nights on KDOC with some sort bikini beach party show that requires him to sell his own advertising spots.

I listened to the show live and I'm pretty sure Joe said he was "glad" Cowen was injured. Joe can be a bit robust at times, but this was way over the line. Being controversial is one thing, but we're talking about a kid who was hurt. Joe seems to do a lot of talking without thinking...and as they say, "a fish dies with its mouth open"...Joe's mouth is WIDE open...a lot. Maybe it's time for Big Joe to go back to the unemployment line again...he can find some guys on disability and tell them how glad he is they're injured.

Petros was right! Joe McDonnell is jealous he is an old fart and the radio is a younger man's industry.

There is one sportsmanship lesson that sticks in my mind from growing up the son of a Trojan. I asked my Dad why we clapped when an injured player of the other team walks off (or is carted off) the field. I asked why we didn't cheer that he was injured, as it should make the game easier to win. He told me that you never cheer for or want an opposing player to get hurt, except if it's a Notre Dame player.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
