This is probably not a fair vote because who can recall the careers of McKeever in the 50s and Besole in the early 60s, except for a few old timers out there. But I know from reading my SC history that McKeever was ahead of his time when he played; and Bedsole was on a national championship team in '62. Probably all three of these men are deserving of the honor.

Lawyer John is right. This isn't a fair question. But that's because Sam Cunningham's game against Alabama was historical in terms of integration and racial relations. I can't believe that he's not in the College Football HOF already. If Fred Crutcher were the running back in that game, I'd have to wonder why he wasn't in the Hall yet! No disrespect to Fred.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
