About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Reggie Bush's investigation could, theoretically, result in the loss of a national championship. Mayo's would result in the loss of a season where USC got bumped in the first round of the tourney. Do the math.
Or the Bush investigation leads to a finding that USC did not know or should know about Bush's arrangement with Lake and Michaels, and that he did not take any benefits before the Oklahoma game, such that no penalty is imposed (like Charles Woodson at Michigan). The Mayo investigation could result in a finding of lack of institutional control (allowing a known runner Guillory access to the program after the Trepagnier mess), and the potential to forfeit scholarships and be banned from postseason play. Do the facts.
The Mayo one concerns me the most because it seems more likely that SC is at least partially culpable. The coaching staff in the Bush case seems to be very clear of knowing that anything was going on. I don't think the hoops staff knew what all was going on either, but they almost certainly should have asked more questions, digged a little deeper, and not have allowed this Guillory scumbag on campus.
I think SC comes out of this in good shape. My opinion. The problem for the NCAA, if indeed they have it in for SC, is that even if there were impropriety, they have to prove it. Prove it. That is always tough in any forum.
