Raisin Bowl
Organizers for a bowl in Fresno unsuccessfully asked the Pacific-10 Conference to sign up with them. It would have meant the 8th-place team could go to a bowl, but it would have to be in Fresno and most likely against Fresno State. No thanks.

This obviously must be bad news for "FUCLA". Oh well, back to keeping your players from climbing over the wall and scrounging YouTube, for your feeble attempts at derailing PC, Brennan and the rest of Troy from laying another smack down on you. Fight On!
Forget about Fresno!
The ACC just pulled out of the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise.
Now the Pac 10 can play on that funky fresh blue field!
The 8th team in 2008, WSU, would not even had been bowl eligible (5-7) this past season...
There are too many bowl games, and they just added two new ones this year. The day will come when a lower-tier bowl game will not be able to go forward because there is not enough .500 teams to fill the available slots.
A few other disturbing bowl trends: (1) putting lower-tier bowls after the New Year's Day games and before the BCS games (The International Bowl after the Rose Bowl?!), and (2) individual teams getting their own "default" bowl if they can't make it to a BCS Bowl (Navy/Army in the new Congressional Bowl, Hawaii in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl and ... fUCLA in the Toilet Bowl).
Pac-10 8th place team versus Fresno State? We'll get that this year when the Bulldogs travel to Pasadena in September. FUCLA better look out, they could potentially go 0-4 against California teams this year. (don't think that's ever happened)
