An NFL coach told us this morning that John David Booty was fortunate to go to the Minnesota Vikings.
``They run the truest form of West Coast offense with Eagles,'' the coach said. ``The quarterback just needs to make reads and I don't think he's good enough to make plays on his own. He's a system quarterback.''

These kinds of posts are so stupid. How can he be "fortunate" to go to a team that intentionally drafted him? They drafted him cause he fit their system perfectly. Fortune had nothing to do with it.

You can always find an NFL coach who will say something negative about a player. I'm sure I could find at least 3-4 that would say Matt Ryan shouldn't have been the first QB taken. What is the point of these posts??

Please be objective. If you follow the NFL at ALL Minnesota is NOT happy with their QB Tavaris Jackson. Whether you like it or NOT JDB is indeed very fortunate meaning he has a good chance to play sometime during the season. How many times was JDB blasted here by the fans? Let's assume for the sake of argument that either an NFL coach or scout watched or viewed JDB's game tapes. So what? They know more FB than a bunch of us and they get paid handsomely to evaluate players. Sadly you don't Mr. Tyler! BTW I have been realistic and objective. I am NOT blasting you.
For the most part I agree with SW on this one and believe me I am NOT on drugs NOR sick! Suck-up your pride and take a punch like a big boy!
Good day!

I am no JDB homer, but it is amazing to me how this guy can go from Heisman candidate/1st round pick after his junior year to "system quarterback" after an injury plagued 2007. Minnesota is a good fit for Booty who has the smarts and experience to be able to run the system effectively right away wheras Jackson is more of a "playmaker" who doesn't make enough plays and struggles in the system.

I agree that any NFL coach can find faults in nearly every player, so these types of comments are really quite silly. For every coach that says something bad about JDB, I am sure there are others that would put down Ryan, Flacco and Henne.

If JDB were so bad, he would not have been drafted at all.
