Simmons update
USC football recruit Maurice Simmons was ``held to answer as charged'' at his preliminary hearing today, which means the case will go to the next legal step. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for May 29. Simmons was released on bail.

And I know the young man has only been charged, but from the facts I read it does not look good for him.
As I once told a friend who was going to jail for a long, long time for something stupid, "You were the golden boy, and you threw it all away."
I guess you gotta play for a year to qualify for the Cooley/Trutanich handshake package. Another golden emissary of USC Football.
If he were a Bruin he at least no how to "go over the wall" to escape. Too bad.
