Its a tad sleazy to allow someone who has an obvious ax to grind to post such trash on your blog. This adviser, at best, is only tangentially related to the issues of USC sports and her personal lifestyle has no relationship to the the appearance of our Song Girls. I don't think anyone has ever complained about the morals of the Song Girls, so you're merely giving this loser an opening to take a cheap shot at this woman.

I'll second that.
Gee, if debauchery and having multiple girlfriends was made a crime, then I would be in prison right now doing 50 years-to-life.
Now that Song Girl questions have begat the nauseating Mustain questions, I wonder how long this sequence of questioning will last till the next (not so) topical point gets beaten to death again and again.
Whoever decided to scratch that post, you put it out there and you have to live with your decision. (By the way, which time were you lying, when you said the athletic department made you take it down or when you said you had second thoughts?) I imagine this post won't make it past you, but you'll read it, and that's all I care about. You're a bad guy, Scott. Plain and simple. The questioner's attack was awful, but your affirmation of his sentiment was unconscionable. I know you won't apologize unless you're forced to, but you should. You should apologize privately to the woman you've humiliated and publically to everyone who expects professionalism when they read content from the Daily News.

That was a personal attack question that shouldn't have seen the light of day. Which coach was it? Anyway, the issue has not been with the Song Girls; rather, there are concerns regarding the appointment, composition, and selection processes of the Song Girl Selection Committee (SGSC). We love the students rooting for our teams, but we suspect political shenanigans with the beaurocrats and insiders on the (SGSC). Scott, do the SGs have a Recruiting Coordinator, and if not, is it possible that Brennan Carroll could volunteer for this position as a way to show penance for yelling expletives at the walk-ons on tryout day? It could serve as an opportunity for the coaching staff to share their expertise with the school and provide BC as an ambassador of goodwill with the student body via volunteer work with the SGs. What do you think?

The question was fine and completely appropriate. Too much political correctness and a see no evil/hear no evil mentality afflicts many people.

Just got in from work and I see where Scott has pulled this. Good idea. Quite frankly, when I first read it I was amazed that Scott would have allowed it to be published on his blog. And then his affirmation was even more puzzling.
But I will still take Scott's sometimes over-the-top commentary over UGLA's Dohn's stale and boring politically correct talk.
And, hey, I give people a "mistake-allowance," and Scott has been pretty clean through the years, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I wish I would have seen the post to know what was going on. But whatev

Spotlight Question
By Scott Wolf on May 30, 2008 12:05 PM | Permalink | Comments (1) | ShareThis
I think this question pretty much descibes some of the Song Girl issues.
Q: While some people are attributing the increasing problems of the Song Girls to the coach, isn't the read problem more to do with ADVISOR to the Song Girls? Let's see, she's a middle-aged woman who recently had a child out of wedlock with a certain basketball coach who immediately moved thousands of miles away, yet she is still one of at least three "girlfriends" that he has. Do we really need someone like that to be in charge of the Song Girls and exert her questionable values and influence on these young ladies? Is there not a morality clause that could prevent this woman from having anything to do with the Song Girls?
I rarely come back here, because Scott long since drove me away with his attitude. Lo and behold, I check this blog out for the first time since 2007 and I come across this post. Scott Wolf gives bloggers a bad name, to say nothing of journalists. What a low life.
Scott-

Seriously, can we please let this topic go? They're students who are supporting the program, there's no need to attack them like this.
Thank you! Put this topic to rest. It should never have been brought up in the first place!

A: Couldn't have put it better myself.
