Surprise, surprise

Tight end Fred Davis is off to a rousing start with the Redskins after failing to appear for practice, which forced the team to call in its security until they learned he overslept.
``He just had a setback," Redskins coach Jim Zorn said of Davis. "Hopefully everybody will learn from the lesson that he is having right now about what it is going to take to get to a place on time, to be responsible.''
Davis was suspended two games his freshman year at USC for coming back to L.A. late from his home in Ohio. It might be worth following the Redskins blog.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
