Walk-ongate RIP
A couple weeks ago, someone complained to me about the nickname ``Caesar'' for Pete Carroll. Well, how many coaches across the country could say, ``I don't care'' about the walk-on video?
And now all of a sudden it's a ``spoof?'' If it was a ``spoof,'' how come five guys made the team? How come a guy was in the corner looking like he might throw up? What else does petecarroll.com do for laughs?
Of course, we don't want to take credit for the video coming down, but . . .
And another thing, Rick Neuheisel doesn't want to comment on ``rumors?'' Nice try when he's got recruits left and right talking about how he pushed the video.

Neuheisel and his new-age weenie recruiting strategies have already brought UGLA football to an embarrassing all-time low. More importantly, it’s obvious that recruits don’t care what the Weenie of Westwood says about Caesar or the walk-on video.
At least Donahue, Toledo, and Dorrell knew how to fight like real men.
I love the program but the nickname makes sense more and more. Arrogance tends toward destruction, Caesar narcissus.
Come on, much ado over nothing. Pete said so much. He said he was not sorry about the video, it was part of his idea of being loose and maybe even being funny, and that he would do something similar again-- Spoken like a man so sure of himself that he does not require the world's validation. That's the kind of guy you want coaching your football team.
So, plesae, let's give this thing a rest.
Oh yes Scott go ahead and take credit for the video coming down. You provide such a service to the community.
The video speaks for itself. No big deal IMO. If Rick N can make a big deal out of it to recruits....then bring it on...I am sure Pete is losing lots of sleep over Rick N
I believe when he said spoof he was referring to Brennan Carroll's mugging for the camera, not that the entire day was a farce.
I think we've all tried to do or say something funny that didn't quite work as expected. I mean look at this blog, there are plenty of times I'm sure Scott thinks he's witty and funny but comes off more like insulting and stupid.
"We don't want to take credit for the video coming down but..." Wow, talk about some hubris.
Sports writer, sports writer! We don't have a real sportswriter so I just say sports writer.
"And now all of a sudden it's a 'spoof?' If it was a 'spoof,' how..."
I saw it the day it was released, and it was described as a spoof even back then.
But Bruce is right for stating what's obvious to everyone but Scott: the spoof part was the obnoxious mugging for the camera on the part of Brennan Carroll, not the walk-on try-out. The biggest problem about it is that it's not quite funny enough to leave everyone 100 percent certain he's trying to be funny.
But - As PC once said to Scott when a TV show he liked was cancelled: "I'm not surprised you didn't get it, Scott."
That video was hilarious. Puh-lease people. Get a grip. When I was throwing up during hell week of high school football drills, everyone was clowning me before and after. It was funny then. Guy throwing up is funny now.
Scott, how about apologizing to Danelo family, LenDale and countless others for your false reporting first before calling out Ben for pulling a totally lame spin on the video. Which, btw, looks like a normal football tryout to me. I've been to camps at a few Pac 10 schools in my time in HS and that's about what it was like. People are too soft these days. Then again, why on earth would you post that online. But I regress, you should think about your own mulligan’s before calling out one as trivial as this.
For the record, you’re tabloid reporting has been toned down immensely over the past few months. Nice work!
"We don't want to take credit..."
Talk about a Caesar complex.
Excellent quote by Pete. He told it like it was, this IS all much ado about nothing. By the way, Ben's blog at www.uscripsit.com is outstanding. With Pete's authority, he is taking us behind the scenes as we have never before been. Thank you Ben and Pete. The real fans love your efforts here. The video was a hilarious spoof, the try-out was very real, and I am sure that 80% of the guys trying out knew that they had no chance, but were enjoying one of the best days of their lives. Fight on, Ben, Pete, Brennan, and all other true Trojans. Keep it up. EOM. I say "EOM" because I don't have a whistle. Fkn hilarious! Rick, Dewayne, and Norman are a bunch of stiffs, our staff has some fun personalities that the kids relate to.
"Scott, how about apologizing to Danelo family"
What did classless thing did Scott do re: the Danelo family?
Raoul: Scott speculated that Danelo's death was caused by suicide, even though there apparently was no history of depression with a kid whose motto was "Livin' the Dream."
Thanks Mike.
That removes any doubt I might have had that Scott is a POS.
