From what you have seen, does Mitch Mustain did flustered easily in tough play situations, or does he maintain his cool, or do you not have enough information yet to form an opinion? If you do have enough knowledge of the situation, on a scale of 1 to 10, how calm and focused is Mustain?

So we all know that the USC Song Girls have been quite horrible and unattractive for these last few years, with far too many squad members and that has been discussed ad nauseum. Clearly the problem is that the selection committee are simply not doing the job they are being paid to do. So my question is, just how does one go about making a change in the selection committee of the song girls? Who is their boss or supervisor that is to be informed that a change needs to be made? Whining and complaining about it incessantly is not going to change anything, so what actual steps need to be taken to replace the people in charge of the song girls and actually get some squad members that are pretty and thin again? When coaches in the athletic department do not get the job done, they are fired and replaced. Since the individuals that comprise the selection committee for the song girls obviously do not have tenure at the university, they should be held to the same standards and should be accountable for the product they put out that represents USC.

In the past, you described Tim Floyd as a "straight shooter" who was always honest and whom you never believed would lie to the media about anything. In light of the many events of the past few months, are you still willing to say that?

Maybe I have missed it, but I would like your opinion, Scott, point blank: will SC be penalized or not for either the Bush matter or the Mayo stuff? If so, what is the likely penalty or penalties?

Hi Scott, do you know why Floyd hasn't offered Renardo Sidney yet and what are the chances he would accept if offered?

What is your opinon on what is happening at 710 ESPN radio? Ever since they got USC football and basketball, the rest of their radio shows has gone DOWNHILL!

How long does USC have Arbogast under contract to do their football games, or does he just come with the radio package. It would be nice to see USC actually hire a PROFESSIONAL to do their games.

How many scholarships will USC give out for the 2009 football recruiting class and do you see the Trojans picking up some more commitments this summer? THANKS!!!

What do you know about the theory going around that the coach of the song girls deliberately picked ugly members for the squad so that her own daughter would stand out in comparison and it would help out her career in the modeling and entertainment industry? Subsequently, she had the choreographers come up with routines where her daughter would be highlighted, always dancing front and center for each song, while the other girls danced around her.

tayce, that Song Girl you are talking about has only been a member for 2 years. What about the years prior and the past 2 years? My theory is that squad members probably have high donor parents who pressure the selection committee to chose their daughters. The selection committee has done a horrendous job the past few years and the state of the squad has just been atrocious. I can't imagine them objectively choosing the girls they have chosen the past 5 years. But if they do, then everyone is right, they need to be dumped. It is embarassing. Scott, are insiders of the university aware of this growing discontent in regards to the squad? Because more and more people seem to be very unhappy with the members we've been getting.

Every decade USC has at least one star running back. The stars for Running Back University include Arnett,Garrett, Simpson, Bell, White,Davis, Allen, Bush, White and others. In the other decades there was always a debate who was that one star, but in the 90s it is difficult to find even one, who was or were that star running back for USC in that time? Also, who currently on this year's team will be the next to be on this list.

In your years covering USC football, what player has done the most with limited talent and what player has done the least with superior talent? In other words, who is the biggest underachiever/overachiever in recent years?

Are there any members of the coaching staff or sports admin office on the Song Girls' Selection Committee? Did the coach of the Song Girls recuse herself from the vote for obvious conflict of interest reasons? Is there any truth to the rumor that several members of the Selection Committee are cozy with the LA Coliseum Committee? To the best of your knowledge, has Gloria Allred, a known contributor of the UCLA Spirit Squad, ever been involved in a lawsuit against the Song Girls or their Selection Committee? Is there any truth to the rumor that Traveler, the most qualifed committee member, sells his vote on the Selection Committee for candied apples?

Wolfie,

As you know, I am the Founding Member of The Scott Wolf Fan Club. WeAreSC.com is holding an "unofficial" family barbeque in a few weeks.

I have made it known that I will only go if you agree to attend. Perhaps we can get Petros to come also? I really want to see how many people we can piss off in one afternoon. That would be awesome!!!

What do you think? Are you in?

Do you feel you are doing your job well when USC's Sports Information office gets upset about your reportage? I understand that USC was bending your ear big time on both the Kevin Love Rejects Mayo story and the Actual Heights vs. Media Guide Heights blog entry.

HI WOLFIE
A while back, you gave your opinion on who our starters would be on the OL next season, and I agree. My question is: Who do you currently see on our second string OL from tackle to tackle, and what do you think this says about our depth at the OL position?
If you have time, do you see anyone behind the second string line getting much playing time, barring injuries?
As always, thanx in advance, and thanx for the forums.

I know your job isn't following the Bruins but I figured you had some insight into Sam Gilbert and his "involvement" with their program. Are any of his actions what you may call questionable and how does it compare to some of the individuals that seem to be circling the USC programs.

Scott:

With another school year behind us and the dawn of a scandal-filled summer approaching for the Trojan Family, this raises some serious questions:

1) With the USC Song Girls in the midst of a decade-long glut of hideousness, could the only real solution to bring them back to their former glory is to get our hero Mitch Mustain to be in charge of Song Girl selection, thus bringing back fairness and dignity to the proceedings?

2) Can you confirm the rumors that USC's entire defense to the NCAA regarding recent scandals in football and basketball will simply be one sentence: "Come on, how could a university with such a heroic figure such as Mitch Mustain possibly be guilty of any infractions?"

3) Is the failure of the new Indiana Jones film due to the public's complete disinterest in a hero other than our hero Mitch Mustain, thus clearing the way for the blockbuster that is Mitch and Me?

4) Are you able to publicly unveil Pete Carroll's strategy of naming the "competition" (if you can even call him that, but we're being generous this holiday weekend) the starter for now merely to throw off the upcoming opponents in their game preparation, only to unleash the ferociousness that is our hero Mitch Mustain at the last minute, thus ensuring scores of over 100 to 0?

5) Is the above strategy due to our hero Mitch Mustain's desire that opponents not have to spend vast sums of money in advance to change their scoreboards to allow scores for scores of 100 and above, which will be anticipated with his participation, thus once again, proving that he is generous and thoughtful of others?

Fight On!
