As of late, according to what I've read on this blog, all but the one to the bottom right must represent their school well. They seem to be "wholesome"...

I get what your saying but I think most people said that they wouldn't mind what the breakdown was as long as they were pretty. The Native American (or Asian?) girl has an athletic build (a good thing and I assume they needed an actual athlete) and she is cute too. On the other hand there is a chick in the back that I might leave out with blond hair and blue eyes. And isn't that like the make up of the state of Oregon anyway so how could it be discriminatory? Never thought I would say this but Go Oregon!

Yup. After the UCLA picture, and now this Oregon picture, it's clear you wouldn't be able to post antyhing from the Song Girls this decade that we can be proud of. We need to change all the people in charge of the squad for the atrocious job they have done. I'm appalled, just simply appalled at how the Song Girl program has been driven into the bottom of the barrel.

WOW! Now those are some cheerleaders I can support. The Song Girls not only do not measure up to the Oregon cheerleaders, they should not be allowed within the same timezone.

Maybe we can arrange some kind of inter-Pac 10 exchange program...

With cheerleaders like that, I would be cheering very, very loudly. I would cut the girl on the bottom right, but other than that, simply amazing.

If any of the current Song Girls, or any Song Girl from 2000 or so, is reading this:

Look at these Oregon cheerleaders and be jealous of how they are much prettier than you. You could never look this good and you should know that. You are all considered a joke on campus now and are nothing more than scraps and fodder to be discarded by the football players. While you are all an embarrassment to SC, the Oregon cheerleaders are the object of envy and desire throughout the country, including among Trojans. Remember that next time you embarrass yourselves while wearing the white sweater and further desecrate the image of the USC Song Girl.

Holy hell! That is quite possibly the greatest picture I have ever seen in my life. Oregon needs to be applauded, congratulated, and possibly have a Congressional resolution passed in honor of their cheerleaders.

Like others have said, I never thought this day would come but I have to say FIGHT ON, DUCKS!

After seeing this picture, we should just disband the Song Girls altogether. The Song Girls are simply embarrassing compared to the Oregon cheerleaders.

How we can even field the Song Girls and claim they are the least bit attractive when comparing them to the Oregon cheerleaders is laughable.

The Oregon cheerleaders are just phenomenal and I have never been so embarrassed by the USC Song Girls in my life.

I must say that after seeing the UCLA Dance Team and these Oregon Cheerleaders that both squads have the best looking girls. However, the USC Song Girls have the best uniforms, the tight white sweater, short pleated skirt and nylons. In short, it's the uniform that makes the Song Girls so special. Perhaps USC could do the uniform justice and select some more appropriate female specimens to fill out these iconic uniforms.

Can you imagine the UCLA or Oregon lookers in the USC Song Girl uniform? Heaven.

How in the world could Oregon have cheerleaders that look like THAT?! They are beautiful and toned in every way. And how could USC, in the fertile land of beauty and fitness that is Southern California, have had such fat and ugly Song Girls these past ten years?

Does anyone else see the problem here? Is Phil Knight somehow responsible for the Oregon cheerleaders? If he is, I am buying a ton of Nike stock today!

From this moment on, I will never again consider Oregon to be the "enemy," a "rival," or anything to be disliked. They are merely a Pac-10 opponent in football and they have my utmost respect for life in everything else now.

Are you kidding me? These girls are beautiful? The only one who would interest me is the girl in the front on the far left. All the others are reasonably good-looking, but not worth a second glance. Maybe I just have abnormally high standards of beauty.

I was thinking the exact same thing as Lawyer John. Put them in normal clothes and they really wouldn't stand out in a room full of people.

Maybe the cheerleading outfits are making them more appealing to some people, all I can say for sure is that the men's eye grease doesn't do it for me.

there is absolutely nothing spectacular about these girls other than the fact that most of them are "blonde". yes, they're pretty, but to call out the song girls as being ugly is just ridiculous!!

The Song Girls are hotter, hands down.

From top left to bottom right: yes, yes, no, yes, yes, yes, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, no. Quack! Quack! From the Oregon website, they offer partial scholarships, free tutoring and computer time, complimentary game tickets for family members, etc. In short, they run a professional program under the athletic dept with substantial support resources, which appears to lead to much more successful recruiting efforts. Quack! Quack!

Overall, you can't deny that the Oregon and UCLA squads have attractive girls. In comparison to the Song Girls, you can really see the disparity of quality between programs that choose girls based on looks and choose girls based on other factors. The Song Girls are just very average from top to bottom. The Selection Committee need to revise their criterion for picking girls. It should start with looks. Not because her parents donate to the school, not because she's someone's sister, not because she went to the same high school with someone already in the squad, etc.

When you CHOOSE to audition for the Song Girls, you are implying that you can uphold the legacy of being a Song Girl. If you are not, then you shouldn't be surprised at all the disappointment. I find it surprising when girls wear short skirts and tight sweaters and then act all indignant for being judged by their looks. *roll eyes*

In that picture, 11 out of 12 of the Oregon cheerleaders would be considered attractive.

Out 14 members on the current USC Song Girls, only three would be considered attractive.

That's a percentage of 91.67% to 21.4%.

Pretty big discrepancy.

Anyone who is saying that the Oregon cheerleaders are not attractive is either related to a current or recent Song Girl, legally blind, or just saying it in order to appear "pro-USC" at all costs, despite irrefutable evidence to the contrary. Take off your blinders for a minute and you'll see that the Oregon cheerleaders are beautiful and toned. As as Trojan, I can say that without the need to lie or protect some entity at my own university that has been greatly lacking for a few years now.

TrojanSmith is a complete fool. The only way that the Song Girls would be considered "hotter" than the Oregon cheerleaders is if you consider the fact that the Song Girls have thick legs, love handles and faces that look like they've been hit with a shovel!

I grudgingly admit that the Oregon cheerleaders are in a whole higher league from the Song Girls and no one can ever argue that the Song Girls are "hotter" unless they have an agenda that is not based on anything objective.

The Oregon cheerleaders are beautiful and the Song Girls should be ashamed of themselves in their presence.

Calm down guys. These are standard, cookie-cutter blonde girls. I see maybe a couple of 7s in there, tops. Dime a dozen in Oregon and even cheaper in SoCal. I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed; but I'm not writing home either.

As for the song girls, tryouts aren't until October (I just checked their site). At least wait until the new squad is chosen before writing them off entirely. Last year's squad had some marginal girls sure, I saw more cellulite than I should have on twenty year old girls in the Swim with Mike pictures. But there's also a few burners that trump all of these Oregon girls put together.

Now, can we talk football? I heard that SC is pretty sick at that...

Did somebody pee in your cheerios this morning? You need to relax and take a pill cause even though your keyboard allows you to loosely spew filth and bitterness without consequence, you should be a tad bit more careful with your choice of words and who you choose to verbally attack without merit. My comments were simply based on what I've been unfortunately reading as of late on this blog. I'm not afforded the luxury to look back, however there have been numerous ignorant comments left criticizing these women along with wishing for the good old wholesome blond days to come back. Though I agree with many here that the quality of our Song Girls has gone down, I think the topic has just gotten to the point where its like a turd that won't flush. As both a graduate and donor to both the United States Naval Academy and the University of Southern California, I've always been one to believe that action speaks louder that words. Thus, as a donor, I have taken what I feel are the beginning/or necessary steps in following up with our university as to why the song girls have gotten to this unfortunate state. May I suggest that you try doing the same instead of verbally bashing a fellow Trojan on a blog when simply stating his or her opinion.

What I find ironic and amusing, is that I'm being called out as a manipulative and small-minded jerk, yet have you questioned yourself as to why maybe the quality of the song girls has gone down? Maybe just maybe these 18-21 year olds just don't want to deal with the constant barrage of criticism spewed by the likes of strangers like yourself who feel they have the right to say whatever they please without any accountability and are thus turned away from trying out.

That comment to directed to you may have been a little rough but when people are you needn't worry about it. A person usually regrets it unless it's a UCLA douche and everyone understands what is what.

Maybe the not thin/fat blond with the button nose and big (blue) eyes and light make-up thing is being overdone but to each their own. Some dudes might like a dozen Selena looking chicks. (I'd take both thank you.)

But some of those girls know that they are not typical of any look that is popular already and that many people will be displeased. And it isn't just about blonds or race. But then some people may be tickled pink at our "new look" so it is up to what most people like. They should know that's they way things are.

I'm willing to say that some of the trashing of the current girls is excessive but as long as it is generalized I think it is okay. I can't imagine the SG's reading these comments anyway. But hell, if you are reading and you put yourself out there kudos for you!
