Counter-programming

While ABC and ESPN2 show the Virginia-USC game, ESPN will show ``Defending National Champion LSU will host Appalachian State from the Division I Football Championship Subdivision on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 5 p.m. (2 p.m. PDT). Appalachian State upset Michigan 34-32 in last year's opening weekend game.''

I can't blame ESPN on this one as the recent history of both programs make this specific game uniquely marketable on that particular Saturday in 2008. Lightning in a bottle in what would normally be a cupcake OOC game in any other year.
