Q: Wouldn't the best solution to fixing the embarrassing mess that the Song Girls have become is to hire a professional outside company that specializes in dance auditions and productions? That way, all nepotism and politics are taken out of the equation, with only the best and prettiest girls being chosen to be Song Girls. There are many such companies in LA who are routinely hired to audition dancers for everything from movies, music videos and even overseeing tryouts for sports teams, so wouldn't this be the way to get the Song Girls back to what they once were?

A: Yes it is. I don't understand why some of these relics are allowed to remain in the decision-making process. Let's have an outside group, or a more diverse group. But when people work at USC for 30-plus years, they are resistant to releasing power.
